Default The Elusive Shift

Wondering if anyone has read Jon Peterson's new book, The Elusive Shift. I skimmed his first book, Playing at the World, and this one has the same focus on D&D as that one did. But this new one centers on game theory discussions that were already getting started in the 1970s: what RPGs are doing, what role the GM should have, etc. Lots of references to old gaming magazines like Sorcerer's Apprentice and S&T that I hadn't thought about in years.

It's an interesting read, but my gaming days only kicked in around 1981-82, so the book predates my personal experience. But I'm guessing some on these boards might remember that time, and might have opinions. Then again, it only just came out, so maybe there hasn't been enough time for people to get to it.
