Custom MQ Set - Would it be possible?

Hey guys,

New to Munchkin, but have quickly become obsessed with it! We play the card game almost every night, and after playing Munchkin Quest, I'm definitely hooked on the board game.

Was thinking about making a Star Munchkin board for MQ, and wondering if you think it would be possible?

Using the current rooms as a template, I would basically make space themed versions, and keep the deals and room conditions the same. Links would also act the same, but I would name them airlocks.

As for the cards - if I went through my Star Munchkin set and separated the Monsters from the rest of the door cards, I could effectively make all other door cards DxM, and still have the treasure cards as normal.

The other thing I would need to do is make standies of all the monsters. Then make rules for which get 2 dice etc.

It would be a lot of work, but do you think it is possible? Would it function?

I'm not sure it would work too well. Before trying anything else, your best bet would be to try playing a game using the base Munchkin cards rather than the Quest cards. I suspect your monsters won't work too well as they aren't designed to give you hits and many of the rooms would never translate as you don't have keywords on the Items. You won't have Healing Potions to recover the hits you get from losing battles and you lose all the d10 powers on Classes (or would need to think of some new ones). While it might work, I doubt it would be balanced enough to be fun.

I know this isn't very helpful, since I can't find a link to it, but I would SWEAR that somebody actually made there own custom Star Munchkin Quest rooms a while back, or at least something similar. I'll keep looking...
