Default Out of Sight, out of mind (an advantage)

Having just seen the Doctor Who Episodes The Impossible Astronaut and The Day of the Moon with a really great new monster The Silence, I want to ask the Hivemind a question.

The Silence had a really creepy power. The second you weren't looking at them, you forgot them. Strong-willed people could retain vauge cryto-memories, but that's it. How would you modle these creatures in GURPS? They aren't invisible, anyone can see them, but the second you don't see them, you forget them. Once you see them again you can remember the previous meetings, but even a glance away and you forget completely.

Some form of Affliction: Selective Amnesia, possibly with onset (out of sight), with permanent duration and a terminating condition of seeing again.

This sounds exactly like a species in Star Trek and I think there was a thread about them.Figure out the name and yu can probably do a search here.

There was science fiction book with a character born with that ability. He was found by the government after his parents forgot they had a child. Naturally he became a secret agent type with a few other mutants.

None of this seems on the right track. The Silence had a devesating power. It was invoked anytime they were seen or stoped being seen.
