The Nordlond setting in particular is quite appropriate for a more-gritty style of play, especially with Delvers to Grow providing quick and easy generation of characters as low as 62 points. 125-pointers proved very robust and fun to play in several "Meatgrinder" events, including one at the most recent FnordCon.

If porting monsters, creatures, and enemies from the Nordlondr Bestiary to other fantasy worlds - because fluff text and magical hoo-hah is easy to leave off if you want it - then mundane creatures and the need to worry about food and transport rapidly get pretty high on the care-about list...and I want to support those campaigns too.
For those folks who prefer a more historic campaign to a fantastic one. I have had several conversations with Douglas about the finer details of ruminate digestion, biology, medieval grain economics, equine endurance, the carrying capacity of reindeer and many other obscure topics.
While the fruits of these discussions are unlikely to be more than a line or two of the book, they will be a very well researched line or two.

In Nordlond, who created Dolphins? Was it a god, jotun, dragon, muspell, or faerie? Nature personified? Were the other animals created by the same being or did many beings create in their image or according to their whim? Maybe the animals all marched two by two through Ginnungagap instead.

"Mundane" animals in Nordlond will have attributes not accessible in Wikipedia, and I hope the Bestiary will at least nod in that direction.

Nerdarchy and Monster of the Day.

Update #10 features a one-hour video chat with David Friant of Nerdarchy, plus the start of the Monster of the Day series.

Been going through the list and seeing where the current versions are in official works and they are all over the place - some are in classic books, some in the Basic Set (incomplete), and a few scattered in 4e works.

This will definitely make a GM's life a lot saner.

400 backers! And I note the average backing value has been rising slightly which is good.

I already have everything from Gaming Ballistic for GURPS. And as an international backer, it's hard to throw more money at Douglas....

We shall likely cross to the full 240 pages at about 900 backers. So…gotta get the word out.

Trying! I really hope you can get everything you want, much less need out of this Kickstarter.

That's why I've gone PDF, but once we're closer to having an idea about size I might upgrade to a printed copy when I can estimate my shipping. But the PDF (and VTT tokens) will be great even if I don't extend to hardcover. I'm keen to see a kick this coming week post US Thanksgiving. Really want maximum critters and in particular that first stretch of more undead.
