Re: Corco's Villa (IC)
Unless I am forgetting something, we have no facts or actual actionable information and a vague prophecy we assume means we should dig into the most highly guarded secret held by a powerful family for generations, who are holding it under pain of who knows what fate bonds and the ire of the most powerful guy around.
It's a bad idea to kick over the biggest hornet's nests in their world on hunches. It seems to me, the juice isn't worth the squeeze here. Let's just find a nice vacation spot with a pool until fate comes and finds us. |

Re: Corco's Villa (IC)
"We're getting ready to open a murder-puzzle box through completely unknown magical threats that could involve threatening innocents to get information on how to assassinate a bad guy, because we're meant to cause a downfall of a tyrant, and this one is as bad as any... But they will likely get replaced by another tyrant just like them and we will have torn a swath of destruction and not really made anything better. And it might not even be the right tyrant. It all feels wrong to me. We're every bit as likely to have a rousing conversation in a tavern that inspires someone to make a better world and in so doing we shake the spear that rallied the change to the downfall of a tyrant, or maybe even all tyrants." |

Re: Corco's Villa (IC)
"Well, maybe there's a half measure we could try. We try to get an audience with the Ayya family, but don't mention the whole, 'fated to shake the spear thing'. Or maybe we just pretend to be looking for work. I imagine knowing how to read and write a few languages is a bit of an edge. Then we try to find someone on the inside who doesn't like Bel. Then we try to get to the bottom of this whole fate business and maybe find a way through this tomb."

"I think we should contact Corco and get a clarification of our mission. We have an agreement to fight for his causes so that one day he might fight for ours. I cannot fight for a cause if I do not know what that cause is."

Your call is answered by a young woman, who says "Pang Zhen is expecting you to ask for more. She wishes me to tell you this:"
You have met your quarry, and let him escape He is a killer, a tyrant, and a bringer of woe The blood of Millions is on his crown

"Well, I can think of a few people who this could a apply to, but it looked like Yi was dead. Though it does look like Bel is off the chopping block. Looks like trying to arrange a meeting with the," I check my notes, "The Ayya family. Sounds like a noise I'd make when I swing a sword. Ayya! They might even be interested; maybe Yi is still alive and still after Bel."

Re: Corco's Villa (IC)
"Even under the circumstances of his death, Yi seems the most likely. Who knows what magics he has. The dead body could be deception, or he may have the power to shed an old form for a new. But it begs the question why he would decide to leave us...
If it IS him, it would explain why the tombs are still in our Fate's path, as Yi's goals are likely unchanged and he is still on his way here to get the information he needs to acquire his prize. Perhaps we should approach them and offer to assist in their defense. So if it is him this is the best place to be, and if it is not, we need to retrace our steps and investigate the possibilities. So we are still at a crossroads, but at the least we can eliminate the need to make enemies of the guardians of the tomb, it would appear." |
