Multiple Gadgets with identical powers...
..e.g. three rings, each can be set to open a warp tunnel to a specific location -- the location can be changed when visiting a new location, and each ring can be set to a different location.
Is this 3x the same gadget-based Warp advantage, i.e. with triple the point cost?

I agree with viera - but be careful, since which version of Cosmic you use will depend on the underlying Advantage. Some things will take a +100% Cosmic to dupe like that.

You can purchase the second and third "locations" as Alternative Abilities.
If your GM is feeling super generous he may opt to use the "Multiple Copies of the Same Advantage" sidebar from Powers pg.12, though that may not be RAW unless they come from different Powers. |

If the rings can independently be given to other people who can then use their Warp power, I'd be dubious about allowing a point break - since you'd be granting other people a Warp power on the cheap.
If they only work for you, then a point break is reasonable. Gadget does make it a bit tricky. |

Gadgets are like that by nature however, and can often have different point values for different characters.

Strictly speaking, disabling one of the powers in an AA group is supposed to disable the others. Doesn't this suggest that losing one gadget means none of them can be used, much as having one AA Neutralized (or running out of uses) prevents you from using the others in that group until the first one recovers?
That, in turn, seems like a suggestion-by-contradiction that perhaps the three gadgets aren't really AAs. (For a classic gadget with AAs, see Larry Niven's "The Soft Weapon".) |
