TURN 3

The remaining tribals, seeing the hot pursuit, keep running another 6 yards, eager to escape the party...

Bain, however, has already shot two more arrows in their direction...and both land right into their fleeing backs!

COMBAT OVER

That was the last of the tribals...
The party can now continue their journey, right?
Vic recommends burning the bodies/disposing them in the river and looting their bodies, looking for weapons or poisonous darts, to use for later. also the skull on the stick I think Bain or Gathika could look it over to see if it is enchanted or somehow bound to anything magical. If it's safe and a human skull Vic will bury it. If it is not human and not magical at all it will burn/be disposed with the bodies

The battle is over.

Bain exhales deeply and relaxes; he sits in the tree’s branch, takes the boots from his bag and puts them on. Then, he gets off with an acrobatic flip.

He walks towards the fallen ones and takes back his arrows from the corpses.

Albeit collected, it is evident Bain is in a good mood.

You would have died eventually. (mutters Bain when taking an arrow from a body)

That smack-down was cold and raw, great job dudes!
We could have started this party for the numbers, but we are a good combination of might and magic.

And I agree with you Vic; we should loot and then cremate the fallen enemies.
Could you, Telrith, make a furnace with this purpose?

Also, I believe we should analyze the darts; replicating the poison, and having an antidote for it can prove advantageous.

On the other hand, I suggest we take the enemy banner; it’s a symbol of our triumph and it could be of use in the future. Before we mess with it, I would let Gathika or Telrith check it.

Good, good. All of them have died. DEATH! Death to whatever crosses our path! Hehehe…

Gathika laughs sinisterly.

I WITNESS you Bain! What a tasty millefleur!

She stares in amazement at the "pile" of bodies and while stepping over one of the corpses, she shouts:

Victory is mine! I mean… ALL MINE! (and yours)! My fine comrades, I propose myself to analyze the skull and the dart.

The party picks over the bones.

All eight of the tribals were each carrying a blowpipe, 10 poisoned darts, 3 meals of fish meats in rice, and some sticks (perhaps for making a fire?).

Two of them had small knives, used for gutting fish or cutting plants.

The darts are all poisoned with some minor herbal toxin mixture.

The skull on a stick is completely unmagical, just some poor unlucky soul beheaded and mounted on a wooden staff. The bodies of the enemies are easily burned, buried or thrown in the river.

I guess It should be enough if you help us digging a set of holes to hold each of these 10 bodies; by including an inner layer of stone, we can prevent earth’s humidity from slowing down the cremation. Once the fire starts, you can make a lid (of stone) with a small vent, to have the heat recirculate and speed up the process; we wait until this finished.

OOC: Normally, "basic" cremation takes about 3 hours.

The bodies are easily disposed of.

Vic loads the good rations into the cart, and carefully moves the darts to the cart as well.

The importance of disposing of the bodies is so that bigger animals/beings don't come and feast and block or impede our return through this path

Indeed, that's the voice of an expert.

I am suggesting to burn these creatures because they are an abomination. They are sentients beings which feed on the flesh of the likes of humans.

I believe their remains might contaminate and corrupt this land if we just bury them.

This soil and the woods that shelter us, deserve better.

Just as it burns the impurity out of metal and cleanses a wound, fire, has the power to purify their filth.

Bain looks at Telrith.

Telrith, earth is your element and you should know better. I would like to listen to you, so we could bring harmony to this place.
