Oh, no. But I don't expect a one-person project like this to phrase things to avoid misleading implications. Even professional psychological researchers don't always do that.

No, you are not. Coming up with questions that aren't biased toward any particular playing style(s) is something I tried consciously to avoid.

I think I might add a peer–behind–the–curtain page that shows what player-type pair each question maps too. I would be especially inclined to do so if I thought I would get feedback from many participating in this thread—sjgames forumites I hold in high esteem.

That would be interesting, but you might get a lot of feedback.

How I arrived at the scores and which questions match up with which player-type pairs can be found here. If you believe there is any bias towards/against any player type, I'd like to hear about it.

Power Gamer: 54%
Butt-Kicker: 38%
Tactician: 75%
Specialist: 71%
Method Actor: 58%
Storyteller: 42%
Casual Gamer: 38%

Wow...I was not expecting to rate that high in any of Tactician, Method Actor, or Storyteller. How much of that is because I have strong preferences for the kinds of characters I like to play, I wonder?

Power Gamer: 21%
Butt-Kicker: 13%
Tactician: 63%
Specialist: 0%
Method Actor: 100%
Storyteller: 75%
Casual Gamer: 33%

That seems about right to me.

That's actually fairly close to my

Power Gamer: 37.5%
Butt-Kicker: 50%
Tactician: 50%
Specialist: 12.5%
Method Actor: 62.5%
Storyteller: 50%
Casual Gamer: 29.166666666666668%

We both rank Method Actor highest, and Storyteller and Tactician high, and Specialist at the bottom. The main difference is that we reverse the order of the other three: your sequence is Casual Gamer, Power Gamer, Butt-Kicker, and mine is Butt-Kicker, Power Gamer, Casual Gamer.

I suppose that's not a huge surprise.

What is interesting is that recently you said things that seem to place you away from the Method Actor archetype. Something about being more okay to break character than MA's believe, and about not placing a high priority on sharing the character's emotions/internal mood/etc. I don't think I can recall the precise wording.
I also did not expect you to score that high on the Butt-Kicker.

I wouldn't say bias, but just disagreements over terminology.

For example, "ST vs TT The "rule of cool" is preferred to careful planning and preparation."

I don't see "the rule of cool" as a storyteller value - I don't see it as a positive feature of any kind of roleplaying style. It's been abused so much as an excuse for inconsistency that any attempt to invoke it at me just diminishes the invoker's credibility.

Indeed, I've always seen "rule of cool" as part of a Butt-Kicker trait.
