Yes. Its a deeper, somehow richer connection, but its very similar to the connection he had with runt, and the "insector" is obeying commands properly.

"I made him to help us to get to the circle!" Peter deepens his concentration as he gives the order... "Lead the way 'Insector'! Protect our group and get us to the circle!"

Anil looks a little miffed that Peter didn't answer his question.

I assumed they had finished reloading while Peter rushed to Sojala, helped him up to his horse, and created his "insector", but he will hold the forward movement until they are ready.

Anil looks over the creature, taking it in: "Insector, from your home."


They hear more screams. one of them is dead ahead. Will they circle round for an opening, or will they take the demon head on?

Peter is looking to follow Anil's lead and get's a bit closer to him to be ready to proceed, keeping 'insector' close to defend them.

"What's the call, boss?" Peter asks Anil.

"We go around." Anil says. "We've already lost Sojal. Ravneet, if we have to face them, try and draw them off. We don't need to defeat them, we just need to get past them."



Ravneet salutes : "Yes Sir"


Anil leads them to the side of the noise, before they head in towards the circle again. They are close enough to see the circle when two more demons show up, one bright red, one blue. The blue one is squat and covered in osteoderms: the red one is eight feet tall, long, gangly, and has fingers that are all claw. The two creatures let out screams of their own.



Anil shouts: "Aim carefully at blue, then draw the red one away!"

Peter aims his bow a moment and fires at the blue one.

He directs "Insector" to charge in a curved path to come around at the red one. It bounds at the creature with a scream that comes out like a chirping squeal as it swings from a branch and flies into the gangly demon, and launches itself in a leap back away from the red creature's chest to charge off into the brush away from the party to try and lead it off from the group.

Peter Aims the bow anil gave him, and fires an arrow at the blue demon

bow 12 +3 (acc) -4 (range) vs 10 ... hit
dodge ?? vs 12 ... failure

damage 1d6+1 .. 7 impaling.

Peter is the first to shoot, punching a hole in the demon through which smoke pours.

Anil's pistol misses, but Ravneet shoots true, making his own hole. 18 pi++

The insector makes first contact. Its swings are easily parried, but they do gain the attention of the demon, which turns to face the insector.

The blue demon is charging Anil, who has his blade out.

Ravneet is looking at the red demon, a little confused if he or the insector will be drawing it off.

Peter has two seconds before Anil and the demon meet.

Its two seconds to load an arrow, and one to fire it... unless you've got some fast draw skills.



Anil meets the blue demon, smoke trailing from its wounds. He's fighting defensively, trying only to avoid its attacks. He blocks a grab with his blade.



Peter is very close, and fires from nearly point blank range. The arrow strikes the creature, but bounces off a bony scute (attack roll 11 vs 12-1 is a hit, dodge ?? vs 15 is a failure, 1d6+1 = 2 damage is a failure to penetrate DR)


Insector is doing a good job of keeping the red demon occupied, and keeping it moving away from the rest of the fight. Ravneet suddenly spurs his horse forward towards the blue demon, waving his riffle like a weapon.



"Disengage! I'll draw him off!"



What will Peter do if the creature steps towards him? what is his next action?

Peter ready's the large knife he was given and moves to Anil's side, trying to distract the creature. If the creature is defeated, he will try and capture the smoke for another creation.
