Perhaps I should use the word 'block' to avoid confusion?

Re: Cidri's Got Talent!
Oh no, I think 'parry' is really just fine. It was just the phrasing "the parry and attack options" had me wondering.
Because in my old group, as a house rule, we actually did add the word "PARRY" to the List of Options, as a replacement for the "DEFEND" option. (Which we did to put to rest any confusion people used to have over the difference between dodging and defending). Our PARRY became an active defense, with a saving roll to block the attacker's weapon with the defender's weapon, costing the defender their action for the Turn just as an attack would.

Re: Cidri's Got Talent!
Agreed, but I didn't think it would be appropriate to make the option available at such a low baseline. TBH, you just hit on another reason why I decided to get rid of IQ-based tiers.

Re: Cidri's Got Talent!
I like the idea that this talent should be available at a lower IQ. And alternate names for it could be Stubborness or Boneheadedness :) Skeptic might be a good name too, but not as amusing.

SKEPTIC could also have a downside like making illusions stronger on a failed 'disbelieve' roll.

Re: Cidri's Got Talent!
The 'cestus' thread in the main forum made me think of my own replacement for that talent.
IQ 9 - BOXING (2) This talent teaches classic techniques of the pugilist allowing the character to strike with both hands in melee or HTH. The figure can punch twice on their turn, once at their normal DX and -2 for the second swing. The talent also includes proficiency with cestus. Prerequisite: BRAWLING

Re: Cidri's Got Talent!
It might be nice if the Skeptic ability took a die off when you refused to believe, but added a die when you needed to believe something. But I'm not sure there are any rolls of the second kind in TFT.
