Because the formula that worked for 3e doesn't give results that match 4e.
The weights and prices are good from a whole two sources though.

I'd play in an Old West game. Or run one, if I had the time and inclination to do so online... As far as I'm concerned, they can be played "straight" (as in, historical or at least genre compliant) or "mixed" (as in, with at least the potential for supernatural powers, etc.). I just like to know up front. I've done a straight game and started a mixed one just before I had to bow out for a time to take care of my wife and new baby.
