Can high strength make armor flexible?
I've been wondering if there are mechanics in GURPS for a high strength attack treating hard armor as flexible. It seems to me that there should but I can't find anything on it. I only have the 4e Basic Set.
The numbers I've been looking at are: 120 ST, W. M. (claws), Claws (Long Talons), Brawling +2, granting a 26d damage punch (using "Modifying Dice + Add") vs. 280 DR body armor. Anybody know where this is or have come up with some reasonable calculation? Last edited by ARyddle; 09-02-2012 at 11:53 AM. Reason: Typo |

Re: Can high strength make armor flexible?
A higher attack strength just means more damage and greater likelihood that the attack will penetrate rigid armor. There is no reason it would cause rigid armor (armor that does not reversibly deform without failing completely) to behave like flexible armor (which does reversibly deform without failing completely.)

Re: Can high strength make armor flexible?
Treating rigid armor as flexible makes no sense that I can imagine. Why would you even want this?

I can definitely see an Imbuement (Power-Ups 1) that allows you to treat rigid armor as flexible, though.

Re: Can high strength make armor flexible?
That would cause knockback, and vs knockback rigid armos is treated as flexible(actually worst, you take 1 for every 5 points).

To the point if your strong enough to bend the metal or other material your just going to ruin it unless it was designed to bend.
The Imbuement idea is a good one though.

I am seeing an image of the Hulk wearing a suit of plate and seeing it crumple and dent all over the place every time he moves (like a suit of foil on a normal person).

I think he was making a joke.
though Hulk did wear armor a few times, notably in Planet Hulk and the Microverse.
