Uninterruptable Magery
Normally when a wizard is attacked or injured while casting a spell, they must make a Will-3 roll to continue. How much of an enhancement would it be to always succeed at this roll? I'm thinking +20%. More? Less?

Re: Uninterruptable Magery
Do you need an Enhancement on Magery? Ways to succeed already exist. For example, buy a Will of 19 and a No Nuisance Rolls Perk. Or take High Pain Threshold, because "The GM may let you roll at Will+3 to ignore pain in other situations."
It seems harder to imagine something about one's magical talent itself that helps you ignore injury, but only when casting spells. Not impossible to rationalize -- it's magic! -- but having astounding concentration or the ability to ignore the pain of injury already exists in the rules. And using those traits might also help broaden the mage, and make his special ability show up elsewhere in game. If you do go with a Magery Enhancement, then +20% sounds approximately right. That'll be 7 points for most mages, compared to 10 for HPT -- not underpriced given that they lose the not-while-casting benefits of HPT. |

A severely limited Compartmentalized Mind would work.

Re: Uninterruptable Magery
Rather than enhancing Magery, I would buy sufficient levels of Will (only to maintain spell concentration, -80%) [1/level] to reach Will 19 (so that Will-3 = 16), then buy No Nuisance Rolls (Will rolls to maintain concentration) [1].

Re: Uninterruptable Magery
It sounds like a modified Resistance to Pain. Aspected is usually -20% (e.g. spell casting only). But since it only applies to rolls to resist breaking concentration and not all the other benefits of pain resistance while casting (shock, etc.), I would think that it would be a larger limitation.
How about: Immunity to Pain (Only for Will rolls to maintain concentration on spells -40%) [18]. It still sounds a bit high for me. I'd probably allow it for [15] or maybe even [10]. Alternately, there is a perk (in Magic Styles, I think) that gives +1 to that particular roll. You could just allow it to be a leveled perk with whatever maximum fits the campaign. |

Re: Uninterruptable Magery
I'd personally call it a +50% version of Cosmic.

Re: Uninterruptable Magery
I'd say not being interrupted is pretty powerful
I'd say just buy up your will |

Re: Uninterruptable Magery
I don't really like it as an enhancement on Magery; that means that the more of a dabbler you are, the easier it is (lower cost) to learn how to ignore distraction.

Re: Uninterruptable Magery
As has been suggested, a bonus to will is worth more than a bonus to Will for one specific application. I agree with others above suggesting limited will and a nuisance effect perk.

Re: Uninterruptable Magery
Which in GURPS usually means the less powerful a spell you can cast - I see no issue. I suppose a perk for a single spell is about right. Alternatively, use an Unusual Background.
