Lost in Dreams (Alexander)

Alexander isn't quite sure how to do it, but figures its similar to firing the weapon. He forces energy into the marble. It starts glowing, and so does his entire hand. The glow on his hand goes away after a moment, but the gem retains its faint glow.

He can tell by the looks on their faces that he both succeeded and did it differently than expected.

Arca nods. "Will do. 100. Travel today. Pay tonight."

OCC: IQ roll to figure how the heck this stuff works -- roll of 10. Modifiers not divulged.

EDIT: Found my notes on this world. I knew there was something I was missing...

As they get ready to head out, Alex notices something odd about the other men. Their skin color seemed a little off. Its was a good deal paler than he would have expected. And the way their head gear is arranged seems to imply they've got something additionally under it. Its subtle, but now that he's noticed it, he can't unnotice it.

Thinks, I'm not sure how much but I saw that greed filled look. Might as well let him know I know I'm getting ripped off. Wonder what he would of charged if I had tagged along from Turlia instead of partway through.

"100. Charge much but am desperate so pay gladly."

Thinks, I wonder if I could do more than one at a time. It didn't seem that draining to do one. I'll have to figure out how much they're worth. It seems like I might be able to make a living just recharging them. Must be like magic batteries for the power gloves and who knows what else. At least that's the feeling I'm getting.

I was just getting ready to go to bed before I felt them doing whatever they were doing. Can't help but think he should be saying travel tomorrow and pay tomorrow night. Maybe tomorrow morning. Either that or they were just getting up and call today tonight and vice versa.

OCC: you're right about the timing.

Arca: "Move camp. Safer with us."

Alexander's attempts to move energy into a lot of gems at the same time are successful, though similarly bright as his first attempt.

He has exactly 100 of the gems.

He'll see about moving his camp over. In the morning he'll notice the thing about their heads but doesn't think it's the best idea to pry. It'll probably come up eventually.

OCC: ahh... so he I did give the number earlier. Ok, he still has 400.

He moves over as much as he can into their camp. Their gear is much better than his: leather waterskins, food made to be carried about, and so forth.

They're getting up in the morning, and Alexander sees one of the other folks without headgear on. The man is not human. Or at least not any human he's seen before. The large ears on the man are pointed, like some sort of lord of the rings creature, and the head is bald, but with a crown of bone or horn or something on top. short protuberances, hardly sticking out at all, but they are certainly there.

Green tries, and probably fails, to not googel to hard at the... Whatever they are. At least they're humanish. Otherwise he gets ready to travel.

Thought you might of forgot and I did re-read through it. Like you said it's not too long yet. That or there really was a hole. Not like he was OCD and counting his marbles every night. But yay filthy rich.

The gear is loaded up onto the big beetle, and they move through the wilderness. The sun comes up and blazes down on them, and they stop for a siesta of sorts during the hottest part of the day. The beetle doesn't have water yet.

Arca gets out a crystal ball of sorts while they rest, places his hands on it, and starts fiddling.

OCC: you have no idea how much a marble is worth.

Green watches Arca fiddle. Interested in if he'll feel more magic.

Neither Green nor I do but we could assume from the greedy look in his eye he overcharged us. And I figure they have a good value because of advantages. I don't expect him to be instantly rich whenever he ends up but I figure it should crop up more than for people that didn't dump points into wealth.

He does feel more "magic", centered on both Arca and on the device itself. And on something far away, flowing towards the device.

Not wanting to appear too ignorant Green doesn't really question what's going on and what is Arca doing and did he call that magic flowing to them and what exactly are you people anyway and... After all he's probably old enough that he should already know all of that.
