Lost In Dreams [Yolanda]

The thing eventually turns to stuffing plants into its jaws. Its a rather strange sight. It takes a long time* but yolanda is able to wait until what ever that thing is wanders off in search of more plants.

Yolanda inspects her injury, and comes to the conclusion that nothing is broken or cracked -- she is badly bruised though.

God damn, Yolanda thinks to herself, while gently touching her injured side. What the <expletive> was that thing? She's unwilling to vocalize her thoughts out loud, as she's still nervous it might hear her and come back.

Carefully she slumps down against the tree to catch her breath and rest for a bit. Yolanda ponders what just happened, and can't really make much sense of it. I ain't no expert, but I'm pretty sure this ain't no China. Where the <expletive> am I?

After she's had some time to rest, however, her thoughts turn back to the woman she had to leave behind. Finding help for her is the most important thing right now, because Yolanda isn't sure how much longer she's going to be able to wait. She pushes herself up and starts to resume her previous course of following the river downstream.

Yolanda continues on down the stream. About 20 minutes after her encounter with the thing, she comes across a firepit. Or rather a complete campsite. There is the ring of stones with ash in the center, squashed grass were folks camped for the night, and so on. She has no idea how old the site is.

The campsite is encouraging, and Yolanda reassures herself that she must be on the right track. She takes fifteen minutes or so to poke around and look for anything interesting or useful left behind. After that she'll continue walking.

She only finds boot prints, not any physically useful items -- but finds a boot print that's identical to the boot around her neck, even when size is taken into account.

As Yolanda resumes her downstream march, she thinks about what she discovered. If the boot prints she saw are any indication, the people who were there might be friendly... well, at least friendly to the woman she found. Whether they'd be friendly to her, is another matter all together. Hell, she thought, that girl back there might not be all that friendly, for all I know.

Yolanda shrugs to herself, Well, hopefully they ain't gonna kill me for trying to save her life.

Yolanda walks for another little while, before she hears a voice call out. Its not a familiar voice. She turns to see a woman dressed like her patient. This woman is also Japanese.

"Īe. Who is you?"

Yolanda is started for moment. While she's been hoping to find people, a part of her wasn't actually expecting to find any. "I... I'm Yolanda,
she stammers out, "Yolanda Washington."

She takes a breath to collect herself, and then she starts to explain, "Your friend... I think she's you're friend right," Yolanda holds up the boots. "She's been hurt. Are you Maddy? She kept saying something about Maddy."

Yolanda goes on to detail the injuries as best she can. "I did what I could for her, and I tried to carry her but there ain't no way I was gonna make it to fetch help like that." She'll show the woman one of the strips of cloth and do her best to explain how she she marked the way.

"Never met Maddy. Who you meet? She hurt? Where your clothes"

"I Haniko Choshi. Bad men that way " She gestures up stream. "Team up there. I ran far. We Attacked by Kosido."

Haniko doesn't speak very good english. Haniko does have first aid supplies. She seems apprehensive about returning the area Yolanda indicates.

[Litvyak]

Yolanda tries to find a strip of fabric that matches up in color and pattern to the woman's clothes. "A woman like you," she tries to explain, pointing up stream. She fishes around to find a bloodier strip, holds up to her and adds, "Hurt."

"As for where my clothes are," she remarks, "That's a damn good question. I don't suppose you know where a girl can get some clothes around here, do you?" She snorts and adds sarcastically, "I've been walking for what feels like forever now and I ain't seen no clothing store."
