I do love the original minimalist GURPS trade dress.

So since this is a supplement for the first (and second) edition of GURPS, you'll just have to go and put out a PDF of the original GURPS boxed set to be compatible with it, right? RIGHT?! :D

This was the supplement that convinced me to try GURPS. The hobby store had First Edition Space side by side with the 3E Basic Set, and after realizing that this fascinating sci-fi game I was skimming through was an expansion, I picked up the core game and got ... well, obsessed.

To my mind, this version of Space was one of the most perfect supplements ever created - it had societal details, sample aliens, tech, planet and star system design, starship design, basic space combat, environmental hazards ... it really was the all-in-one that it was supposed to be. In the end, I probably spent way too much time with the random planet generator .... :)

I had just bought the GURPS Basic Set 3rd Edition and found Space 2nd Edition in a combo pack with Space Bestiary, they were my first supplements for GURPS and were what got me hooked as well. Years later I picked up a copy of Space 1st Edition and was amazed at how little had changed. Easily the best GURPS books ever written, for so many reasons.
