[Magic] Making spells permanent through normal ceremonial magic
In GURPS Magic, some spells say they can be made permanent "as an enchantment". For example, Alter Body says, "May be made permanent, as an enchantment, for an energy cost of 200." Other spells have similar language, but without the "as an enchantment" clause. E.g. Glow says "An area can be permanently illuminated for 100 times casting cost." When I first read that, it sounded like maybe you could make spells like Glow permanent via a normal ceremonial casting, without using the enchantment rules. Is that the intent? Relatedly, can you do it without knowing the Enchant spell?

Re: [Magic] Making spells permanent through normal ceremonial magic
I'd assume that those are still enchantments, as they are listed under the Item heading. It makes sense to me that casting a permanent version of a spell that's normally temporally limited would be treated as an enchantment. I guess you'd have to check with Kromm to be 100% sure.

I think the main differences is casting time for these permanent illumination spells, if they can be done instant instead of needing the hour+ enchantments normally demand
