Sweet! I bought it at once, but I don't have time to read it yet. I'll comment more (in the form of a review) once I have.

If anyone planning to review this wants to submit it to rpg.net, that would probably garner some interest over there. Steampunk comes up from time to time on that site.

Nope, Kromm's been up to his armpits in the Dungeon Fantasy RPG for a few months now, so I've been doing 'em. Now I just have to figure out how to glue gears on a haiku . . .

Well, the official thread is up and I didn't go with the obvious haiku topics, but instead with something that really stayed with me after reading this book. In a way, steampunk is about setting up rules -- rules for society, the world, science and the laws of physics, and expectations -- and then shining a spotlight on people who break those rules in interesting ways. That's not how most people would describe the genre, but I think it may be one of its most important underpinnings.

(And to pre-answer the question: No, I don't plan on merging the threads. We've always allowed side discussion threads for new releases in addition to the official one.)
