Default Anthropomorphic Animals in GURPS

Until GURPS Furries comes out (which is an actual upcoming book), where can I find some anthropomorphic animals in the various GURPS products?

There are some bioroids in GURPS Bio-tech that are essentially antromorphs.

it may be mostly cosmetic, so unnatural features is all you need, if it is unnatural at all. In some campaign it may be all natural to have a fox head and a human body.

If you want something like the old teenage mutant ninja turtles RPG, you just decide what special characteristics your character have, some may have the fur perk, other armored scales (DR), night vision, claws, etc.

you imitate the animal characteristics you want your character to have as advantages and disadvantages.

I agree with Rolando.

you could look at http://www.panoptesv.com/RPGs/animalia/animalia.html to help find specific "animal traits" you can use to give each template a more unique feel.

It really does depend on the setting, as Social Stigma (Monster) may be more appropriate. In any case, you may want to decide how animal the individual species are (their traits) and how anthropomorphic the individual species are (especially when it comes to sex and reproduction).

For example, one catgirl species could have the advantages of Appearance (Attractive) [4] and Night Vision 5 [5] and the features of Cat Ears and Purr while another catgirl species could be a 150+ CP combat species. In the either case, they are likely sexually compatible with humans (though Erotic Art would likely suffer Physiology penalties), though they are unlikely to be reproductively compatible with humans (magic and/or technology may circumvent those restrictions however).

Individual anthropomorphic animals are scattered throughout various books, and vary quite a bit in how human vs. how animal they are, so it would be hard to build a consistent furry setting by just using a bunch of those.

Template Toolkit 2 is a really good book for building specific races, but it does require a certain level of familiarity with the system. I'm not sure I'd recommend jumping straight into that if you're new to GURPS.

The Cat-Folk race in GURPS Dungeon Fantasy are pretty straightforwardly anthropomorphic cats. They're probably a good baseline for how to build a human-sized, relatively human-like furry template: a couple +/- 1 attribute & secondary characteristic modifiers, fur, a tail, and a small handful of iconic advantages and disadvantages from their animal species.
