Thats funny how everybody came here to talk about system for Na'vi :)

I thing that it is something in evolution. Mammals on Earth has some common traits. In Pandora case - not only mammals, but animals and plants has them also. I suppose that it realy have to be something strange in Pandora evolution, that some creatures do not have them.

Pandora i 0.8 G of Earth. Average human with average ST on Pandora would be good sportsman.

Who has some knowledge about G influence on capabilities in GURPS?

And other factor. Occam's razor (or Ockham's razor):
"entities must not be multiplied beyond necessity"

Me, avarege human on planet earth, with average ST (I think so) - I am able to pick somebody up and using "swing" throw him to other person.

On Pandora, with lower G, and even little above average ST i would be able to throw human to other human. Or even Na'vi to other Na'vi.

ST +10 in my opinion is to high.

10 - average
11-12 - above average
13-14 - exceptional - quoting "feline grace, bulging muscules"

Remember that Na'vi should be playable race. I see no point in playing "Munchkin".
For me: ST +2, and taking under consideration lower G is enough for average Na'vi.
Warriors and hunters could take higher stat.
Remember that every society has commoners and shamans.

I am not so good in GURPS system, so I will let you think about it. Hoping that my links and questions were helpfull. CU!

And one more thing - they aren't 2 times bigger than human. They have only 3 meters high. So they are only a little bit more higher than 1,5 times bigger.

With ST as low as 12 there's just no way to shoot those huge spear-arrows, especially if the bows are indeed very strong. In fact, my reasoning for ST20 is almost solely based on needing good bow damage (yes, good bows/arrows help, but you have to draw the thing before shooting).

Ok. I is logical. Bigger bows needs bigger ST.
Question is - do we want to have cinematic or realistic game. I think that every GM make decision on his own.
Mayby I am wrong, but what can do creature with ST 20? Throw a car? Some cars are quite small, and few human could lift such a thing :)

ST 20 - lifting ability is four times more. At extra heavy: 800 lbs?

Consider other options. Do you wana have more damage in archery?
Martial Arts.
Karate at DX+2 gives +2 damage.

So, Na'vi Archery ?

Yes. Na'vi are bigger. Stronger. More agile. But ST 20 is really high.

DX 13. Warrior/hunter could rise it with additional +2. ST 15. For me it is realy overhuman strength. Average Na'vi warrior could do twice more than average human. Add expirience with bows (martial art) and we have deadly combination.

And remember that this arrow-spears are 20% lighter that it seams. Pandora's 0.8 G

Regarding arrow-spears: they should only be 20% heavier (or have +20% range) compared to what can be done on Earth with those big bows. However, those arrows penetrated military vehicles' glass. That's some big damage, even with Weapon Master (Bow).

I suppose we could add Power Blow (Bow) and Breaking Blow (Bow) to the list of warrior traits if we really want to . . .

Based on lifting ability, then, I know several superhumans.

Being able to lift twice as much as the average human is really not as exotic as you're trying to make it sound. Human strength varies enormously and some trained and talented people can indeed lift four times as much as even a healthy young male can do.

And those people are not 10 foot tall super-aliens.

I'll grant you that Hjalti Úrsus might be a super-alien. But he's not 10' foot tall. As I recall, he's about my height.
