Magic System Question III

What do ley lines do, or what are they? Since Spiritual Resonance was the runner up for the Mana question, options 1 and 3 will result in ley lines that do carry spiritual resonance, though 2 and 4 will not.

1.

4. Ley lines do not directly affect magic, instead affecting probablility in various ways.

5. Something else (please specify).

Answer: OK, so '1' has four or five votes, versus one vote for '2 or 4.'

Number 1, as I find myself agreeing with the logic of the handsome fellow who suggested it.

1. You need the Stargate equivalents but you don't need regular humans practicing any form of magic (except Material Magic.item-making).

2 or 4; I see 2 as basically a case of 4.

1. Having Ley lines be naturally occurring allows placement where interesting for a story, instead of where the building power is most advantaged.

OK, so '1' has four or five votes, depending on whether I'm right in what adm's '!' vote is meant to be, versus one vote for '2 or 4.' If there are no new votes by the time I check tomorrow, I'm going to call the vote and post the new question then.

Magic System Question IV

How do ley lines interact with Stargates?

1. The Stargate just needs to be on a ley line (this or the next option may mean that the 'gate our Stargate Command-equivalent are using started working again when it was moved to a location that happened to fit).

2. The Stargate needs to be on a powerful ley line, or a nexus of ley lines.

3. The Stargate slowly bends ley lines toward itself when left in place for a few years.

4. As #3, but it takes decades.

5. As #3, but it takes centuries.

6. Something else (please specify).

Please remember to include the number of your preferred option when you vote.

*******

Answer: OK, 2 wins, with four votes. 1, 3 and 6 have one vote each.

Wouldn't 3-5 make the previous question kind of redundant? Like, if ley lines are needed to do big magic and nothing else, and ley lines move around to match wherever the big magic is, then what do they do?
