Where to find Orcs?
Particularly of the large, strong D&D type? I would assume it's in GURPS Fantasy, but I could be wrong.

Re: Where to find Orcs?
There's orcs in Banestorm and DF3 (under "Goblin-Kin").
The DF ones are very big, but not that much stronger than a typical person. |

Re: Where to find Orcs?
There is an orc template in Fantasy, but they aren't very large or very strong - just tough.

Re: Where to find Orcs?
What might be closer to the D&D style "Big, not very bright, brutish" type would be the statistics GURPS uses for Half Ogres (DF 3 has a set, not sure about Banestorm).

Re: Where to find Orcs?
What exactly is Banestorm anyways? I've heard it referenced several times now.
I'll look into the one in Fantasy; I think a "just tougher" version of humans might be in order. They are going to be natives on a primordial style world (they aren't natives in the sense that they evolved here, simply natives in that they're living there for some time now). Hopefully, I'll make up a nifty and interesting tale regarding their tribes and my players will like it. First contact has the orcr receiving them as gods - I and two of my players are big SG1 fans, which will appeal to them. It also will have parallels with Cortez... M. |

Re: Where to find Orcs?
It's a pre-built campaign world. The premise is that a cataclysmic mishap on a magical world inhabited by elves, dwarves, and orcs caused random humans to be snatched away from Earth starting around the Middle Ages. They built new societies based on their ancestral roots (Christianity and Islam are major religions, languages are derived from ancient and Medieval Earth languages, etc.) but adapted to the new world.

Re: Where to find Orcs?
GURPS Banestorm
is the setting that first IIRC appeared in the adventure Orcslayer! and was later expanded as the 1st edition of GURPS Fantasy. It essentially is an invented world fantasy in which a uncontrolled summoning has brought various different creatures (including humans from Earth) over the last 900 years or so. EDIT: Darn Ninjas. Are you guys from Sahud? |
