As per the title.
I'm discussing with a friend for a campaign how to handle the presence of cybernetics in their main form, since the alternate form is physiologically very different. For an alternate form that retains the cybernetics or implants of the base form, does it have to be factored in to the cost of the alt form, or would the cybernetics count as Personal traits that carry over? Does anyone have cybernetics adjust to fit (if using more wishy-washy magical transformations) or should it be required that each form have separate compatible hardware installed and paid for separately, in both points and cash value? |

Are said cybernetics bought with points or with cash? If points, include them in the cost of the Alternate Form. If bought with cash, apply a CF to them in order to have shape-shifting cybernetics.

I figure in this specific circumstance, since they were unaware of their alternate form for reasons of memory loss, they would not have cybernetics in it; on top of that, shape-shifting cybernetics aren't a thing (though if they were, what is a fair CF for something like that?) in this setting yet, so if they do eventually want to get that form to have similar cybernetics, I'd probably with them having to pay the points to bump the template up and the cash as well. Thanks! |

Yeah, if they're bought with cash, he either has to pay extra points for the Alternate Form, or, he gets no benefits from the cybernetics.

The answer should depend very much on the metaphysics of AFs; that will also affect trait builds.

If the cybernetics are personal traits, rather than racial traits, of the main form, they should still be there in the altered form. Unless you take a disadvantage in the alternate form to remove them or perhaps a limitation on your cyber advantage.
