Help me understand style costs for gun styles I?
As a followup to my prior Martial Arts module questions, I decided to build a 25 pt "module" for Tactical Shooting/Gun Fu and test my understanding. I am using Shotgunner from Tactical Shooing as a worked example.
Skills: Armoury (Small Arms)-1 [1], Fast-Draw (Ammo)+3 [8], Guns (Shotgun)+3 [8] Advantages: Acute Vision 1 [2] Techniques: Double-Loading+1 [1], Fast-Firing (Shotgun)+1 [2], Quick-Shot (Shotgun)+1 [1] Perks: Style Familiarity (Shotgunner) [1], Quick Reload (Breechloader) [1] I'm envisioning someone who shoots trap and skeet, as well as does small game hunting. Possibly, they're a competitor, or maybe they just enjoy hunting as a hobby. This would use double-barrel shotguns 'cause of my family fondness for them. Does this check out?

You might want Fast-draw (Shotgun).

Re: Help me understand style costs for gun styles I?
Okay... It's not a 'style' per se, but it's a decent Lens.
Th whole point* of style costs is that's what you need to spend to be considered a "student" or "practitioner" of the Style which then allows the PC to keep buying up those skills, Ads, Perks, Techniques, and other options without needing special dispensation from the GM. So to buy the Style, it just requires the PC buy the two primary skills at 1 point and the Style Perk. But again, your Lens is a good reflection of someone who has maybe dedicated themselves as a skeet or quick-shooter. Someone else in the style might have gone a slightly different route of Techniques and Perks, say a CQB Room-clearer might want the Techniques QCB (Shotgun), Immediate Action (Shotgun), and Retain Weapon (Shotgun), with the Perks Cool Under Fire, Lightning Fingers (Shotgun), and Tap-Rack-Bang (Shotgun), and maybe the optional Skills of Stealth, Tactics, and Throwing. * Pun not intended, but I'll take it. |

Re: Help me understand style costs for gun styles I?
I thought about it, but I'm not trying to spend points for a combat setting. You could make an argument for it as a hunting skill, but I chose not to.
My nomenclature isn't always as exact as it should. I know 2pts can buy the style, but I'm using this as an educational exercise for me. Thanks for the critique. OW.
