[DF] Quick and dirty equipment for SM+2 races
DF has some brilliantly easy rules for equipment for SM+1 equipment.
Are there something similar for SM+2 in some of the later books or else where? I know there are much more detailed rules for SM+2 equipment to be found, but I want them to be consistent with DF. Maybe just all values x2,5 instead of x1,5 (as it is for SM+1)? |

The next Low-Tech is too necessary for these things -you know it will include scaling rules, covering SM+2, and seemingly much bigger sizes too. But I think it's very possible they will not be really consistent with the DF approach.

Re: [DF] Quick and dirty equipment for SM+2 races
Extending the rules in DF1 isn't too difficult, and I actually did that while preparing for my next game uh, about two weeks ago?
Weapons have weight, damage bonus, min ST, and cost multiplied by 2 (scaling in proportion with linear scale). Minimum damage bonus increase is +2. Armor has cost and weight multiplied by 4 (scaling in proportion with area scale). Armor in DF1 technically should cost/weight x2.25 instead of x2 but they obviously opted for a whole number for ease of math.

Re: [DF] Quick and dirty equipment for SM+2 races
I use multiplication by 1.5 twice
For instance, take a normal 2 handed sword for a SM 0 person Needs 12 ST, Sw+3 +3 x 1.5, then 4.5, 4.5*1.5 = 6.75, so +7 12*1.5 = 18, 18*1.5 = 27 |
