They've been known to hunt and kill humans for food, but I don't know if that counts as "cranky" or just "hungry".

I left out polar bears because they are mostly carnivores rather than omnivores. They are the largest more-or-less terrestrial carnivore, although you could argue that they are more marine than terrestrial. If we want to include carnivores, then we can also throw in orcas, dolphins, belugas, fur seals, elephant seals, and physeters. Some of these are fairly even tempered or even friendly towards people, others are more on the grumpy side.
