Superhuman Template [Supers/Powers]
I was just wondering if anyone had a standard template than they use as a base for superhumans in their campaigns. For example:
Superhuman [200] The Superhuman template represents the traits that the majority of superhuman character seem to have in common. While some superhumans will lack a couple of the elements of the template, the majority of the elements can be found in practically every superhuman in existence. In particular, Recovery and Regeneration (Regular) represents the ability of superhumans to get back in the fight much faster than normal humans. Attribute Modifiers: ST 12 [20]; DX 12 [40]; IQ 12 [40]; HT 12 [20] Advantages: Combat Reflexes [15]; High Pain Threshold [10]; Luck [15]; Fit [5]; Recovery [10]; Regeneration (Regular) [25] |

I've been thinking about something like that, yeah. For crimefighters who have a secret identity you would almost have to have Reduced Sleep.

Re: Superhuman Template [Supers/Powers]
I'd drop the Luck, and the IQ to 10 and get Unkillable 1.

Re: Superhuman Template [Supers/Powers]
I don't. 'Superhuman' to me is way too divergent a category to make a template for. I do have a template for gods in my still-under-construction mythic fantasy campaign. I'll post it if I can find it easily.

Re: Superhuman Template [Supers/Powers]
While that is an option, Unkillable is actually quite uncommon in Supers, as it shows up in none of the templates. While Luck is only listed as an option for one of the motivations, I have never seen anyone play a superhuman character without luck outside of a horror campaign. As for the attributes, individual characters can modify them as required. Of course, YMMV, and feel free to add your own versions.

Re: Superhuman Template [Supers/Powers]
Given the open-ended nature of supers, Ive had bettet luck with stating baseline capabilities.
For instance: You must be able to handle a [sniper/tank/special ops team] You must be able to get information out of a bad guy. You must be able to get into a heavily guarded compound. Think about the different ways these challenges would be handled by Superman, The Flash, and Professor X. No template can really capture that bredth. Just state the baseline, and let people specialize beyond that. |
