I worked at a part time job with Rush and was thus one of his drinking buddies for a few months once years ago. I've spoken to a few of the rest, and observed the rest at work. If I don't give them a name, I probably haven't talked to them. Stylish Ute Guy always gives me the stink-eye for example, but I've seen him talking to other people (I think he thinks I'm a skinhead).

I drive a cab downtown at night, so I meet a lot of colorful people even by local standards.

Alan was always described as bright. Growing up, he had "a lot of potential" His teachers lauded him. he felt the whole world was ahead of him. He didn't have to try too hard. He always was a fan of martial arts, and even though his home life wasn't very good, he followed his father into the martial arts. he was good. His instructor said he could be the fastest Black belt the school had. He practiced for hours a day. When he wasn't doing martial arts, he was doing very well in school .
He isn't sure what happened, exactly. Even now it seems like a dream. in high school he never had to try, he always did well. he would study a bit of this, and a bit of that. he got into the occult for a while. it seemed easy. For years he never pushed himself. he had time, after all. College wasn't an option at first, without money, and his last year of high school guaranteed he wouldn't get scholarships. The same year he quit martial arts.
Alan became a dilatannte, never really fixing on anything. he tried to put himself through Art School, but didn't get very far. it seemed his life was constantly plagued. Undiagnosed mental illness and bad upbringing made it hard for him to hold a job. he finally started to go back to school, with fantastic results impressing his teachers, working odd jobs in Tech Support, tutoring kids, and taking up martial arts again. And then, 8 years ago, the stroke happened. His memory, once photographic, faded, his academic ability disappeared. he couldn't focus or push himself. he floundered through a few more years of school, racking up debt, overeating, and geneally failing to make anything useful himself.
Since dropping out, he's held a bunch of low paying jobs, regretted his decisions in life, and continued to waste time. he works part-time from home. Hhe promises himself that he will use his time productively, but it just seems to slip away. he has attempted on many occassions to "solve" his problems, but when things get hard, he backs down. His cognative dissonence is a sore spot in his life. he knows what is wrong but can't seem to figure out why he's in this spot.
A few weeks ago he heard that some people, friends of a friend, are heading out to hunt ghosts, satanists, and discover the truth of the world. The way he hears it, it could be very dangerous. He has decided to join. "Screw it," he reasons, "it's not like I am doing anything with my life anyway."

The Stripping Pirate [0 Points]:

Image: A black man in his late 20s, early 30s, wearing a black eyepatch, a black do-rag, a black leather jacket, black jeans, and black leather boots. He obviously doesn't skip any trips to the gym, with ripped arms and sixpack abs that especially become apparent when he starts taking off his clothes in public.

Culture: TL 8 [0]; Familiarity: Western [0]; Languages: English (Native / Native) [0];

Attributes: ST 13 [30]; DX 10 [0]; IQ 10 [0]; HT 10 [0];

Secondary: Speed: 5.0 [0]; Move: 5 [0]; HP: 13 [0]; FP: 10 [0]; Perception: 10 [0]; Willpower: 10 [0];

Advantages: Appearance (Attractive) [4]; Fit [5];

Perks: Schtick (Sexy Pose) [1];

Disadvantages: Compulsive Behavior (12-) (Binge Drinker) [-15]; Compulsive Behavior (9-) (Carousing) [-7]; Distinctive Features (Wears an Eyepatch in 2011) [-1]; One Eye [-15]; Pacifism (Reluctant Killer) [-5]; Social Stigma (Criminal Record) [-5];

Quirks: Exhibitionistic Approval-Seeker (Only When Drunk) [-1]; Impulsive (Only When Drunk) [-1];

Skills: Area Knowledge (E) (Denver) IQ+1 [2]-11; Carousing (E) HT [1]-10; Dancing (E) (Op Spec: Strip Tease) DX+1 [2]-11; Lifting (A) HT-1 [1]-9; Performance (A) IQ-1 [1]-9; Sex Appeal (A) HT [2]-10; Streetwise (E) (Op Spec: Scoring Coke & E) IQ [1]-10;

Notes: Part of our continuing series: "Wacky People From the Streets of Real Life Denver." Observed walking down the street several times, and now getting kicked out of Denver Diner for stripping and thrusting his pelvis at a table full of men (who cheered and gave him dollar bills) the other night.

Background: The guy just likes to take off his clothes, okay? Half-blinded in a childhood accident, he is tremendously insecure about his appearance and works out every day to keep it up. He hangs out on the street a lot but isn't poor, probably dancing at a place like Boys' Town for easy cash.

My try - sorry, IDHMBWM so there might be some errors...

The professional Soccer player wannabe [-1 Point]:

Image: A man in his early 30ies, about 180cm tall, with brown hair. He looks quite fit, although his face looks a bit pale. Usually he wears a very sporty outfit what looks a bit old and not well taken care of.

Culture: TL 8 [0]; Familiarity: Western [0]; Languages: German (Native / Native) [0], English (Broken / Broken) [2],

Attributes: ST 10 [0]; DX 11 [20]; IQ 9 [-20]; HT 11 [10];

Secondary: Speed: 5.5 [0]; Move: 5 [0]; HP: 10 [0]; FP: 11 [0]; Perception: 9 [0]; Willpower: 8 [-5];

Advantages: Fit [5], Contact Group (Local Soccer Community) [5]

Disadvantages: Alcoholism [-15], Wealth (Poor) [-15]; Status -1 [-5]

Quirks: Chauvinist [-1]; Always talks about soccer when possible [-1]; Bully (against homosexual males only) [-1]; Always binge drinks when being told that he won't become a soccer pro [-1]

Skills: Brawling (E) DX [1] -11; Kicking Technique [1]; Headbutt Technique [1], Carousing (E) HT+1 [2] -12; Current Affairs (Soccer only) (E) IQ+2 [4] -11; Professional Skill (Facility Management) (M) IQ+1 [4] -11; Sports(Soccer) (E) DX+3 [8] -14;

Background: This guy had the big dream of becoming a professional soccer player in Germany / Austria. He is a bit talented, but not enough for the big leagues. He has spent his teen years training and playing soccer, sacrificing school in the process. "Why should I study when I will earn millions as a soccer pro!". In his later teens and twens he saw that training hard is actually less fun than hitting on girls, going out with friends and hanging around. Since he was quite confident with his skills he thought it would be no problem to let his training loose a bit. In fact ee even is quite successful as a player and is easily the best in his small local soccer team. But not really more. He was at some castings for big teams, but without much success. In the recent years he started realizing that he is too old for his dream to really come true. His frustration with this fact drove him into his alcoholism. Since he has no professional training he works as a facility maintenance man for the local soccer team. He lives in a small hut next to the soccer stadium.

Time Shifting:
- A couple of years ago he had Overconfidence instead of Alcoholism plus Appearance (Attractive), increasing his point value accordingly.
- In the next couple of years the Fit advantage is quite likely to vanish and the Overweight disadvantage will appear decreasing his point value accordingly.

Sherry Kowalski, My Oblivious Apartment Building Manager [-50 Points]:

Image: A short, plump white woman in her early 50s. She has greyish hair in a neat bob and an endless collection of fuzzy pastel sweaters. Stale cigarette smoke wafts off her almost palpably, but she's never smoking in front of you.

Culture: TL 8 [0]; Familiarity: Western [0]; Languages: English (Native / Native) [0];

Attributes: ST 8 [-20]; DX 10 [0]; IQ 10 [0]; HT 10 [0];

Secondary: Speed: 5.0 [0]; Move: 4 [-5]; HP: 10 [4]; FP: 8 [-6]; Perception: 9 [-5]; Willpower: 10 [0];

Advantages: Claim to Hospitality [5]; Talent x1 (Business Acumen) [10];

Perks: Good With Cats [1]; Honest Face [1];

Disadvantages: Absent-Minded [-15]; Addiction (Tobacco) [-5]; Fat [-3]; Incurious (9-) [-7]; OPH -1 (Reeks of Stale Cigarette Smoke) [-5]; Pacifism (Reluctant Killer) [-5]; Unfit [-5];

Quirks: Dull [-1]; Mildly Gullible [-1]; Mildly Honest [-1]; Mildly Miserly [-1]; Mildly Short Attention Span [-1];

Skills: Administration (A) IQ+2b [4]-12; Accounting (H) IQb [2]-10; Area Knowledge (E) (Denver) IQ [1]-10; Diplomacy (H) IQ [4]-10; Finance (H) IQ-4bd [0]-6; Housekeeping (E) IQ+1 [2]-11; Merchant (A) IQ+1b [2]-11;

b = +1 from Business Acumen

Notes: Ripped from real life. Name changed slightly to protect the guilty. Her Claim to Hospitality lets her stay at any company building on approved business trips and vacation time, and also includes her two kids, who don't do anything for her but aren't so alienated that they'd let her sleep on the street if she lost everything. All of the above also expect a free room from her when they come knocking.

Background: Sherry isn't the greatest building manager to have for your apartment, unless you're completely up to no good. A divorced mother of two adults who live elsewhere, she is the only on-site representative of a massive corporation headquartered in another city. She means well, and isn't stupid, but can't remember anything or concentrate on something other than her next smoke break and doesn't notice anything sketchy unless it falls right in her lap. RPG Adventurers, meth chemists, and vampires could all populate her building comfortably, with nothing to worry about except each other and how many calls it takes to get a simple repair done.

The job suits him absolutely fine - he lies all day in shade, whistles popular melodies sang by passing bards and dreams about the world beyond.

Lethen is a lazy, dim-witted cheerful bum, who cares about nothing in this world but how to feed himself and earn a copper or two for a beer with the locals.

He does dream though, and somehow, he convinced himself he might have an elven heritage, just because a lovely lady he met once told him he strikes a resemblance similar to the elven.
