Question on Car sizing
So I've been looking at Hot Wheels car holders to hold painted cars. It's going to be a while before my stuff arrives in the UK so I wondered if anyone who has the cars could advise if it's a good plan or if the cars are too tall (the length and width seems fine.
Thanks.

Awesome sauce. I shall return to vicariously living through others until the international shipments come through.

Re: Question on Car sizing
Ehhhh. They might be a good fit, but maybe not.
Those Hot Wheels holders are designed with a kind of generic car size. So some minis are going to bounce around. Which would make me worry about paint chipping myself. Especially after taking the time to paint them. I'd go with one of the miniature bags myself. Ideally use 1.5" thick foam. That way you can put them on their side and get, I believe, nine per foam layer, and be able to see them all nicely.

There are some companies that make foam trays for Gaslands. These work perfectly.

Re: Question on Car sizing
Check out the storage/carrier thread; there some really nice ideas in there including a case with straps to hold the cars in place.

Re: Question on Car sizing
I loathe all the miniature specific cases I've ever looked at.
The best are just over priced pelican cases. So why not just buy a regular pelican which is what I do. You can get any size pelican you want. Either get one with customizable foam or buy a set of foam inserts and customize it to hold what you want. |

Same price. https://www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=12681 One guess which I'd rather have. It isn't the one that isn't water and shock proof. |
