Help { New To GURPS; no nearby gamers }

Hey, my name is ProfessorDoxus.
I need some assistance, and here is my Quagmire.

I have the "GURPS: Fourth Edition: Basic Set: Characters" and I am interested on playing, I am new to RPGs and need help getting started, like with finding people to play with. None of my friends (real life) like RPGs. Is there anyone online who would play?

There's the Gamer Finder subforum that can be used for that, and the Play-By-Post subforum where people actually play online (no idea how good - I don't PbP because it's slow for my tastes), maybe some people willing to run games if they find more players. I'm semi-looking for a fourth online player (over Google chat), but I think you'll find playing in my group difficult for several reasons (somewhat strange world, potential delays for dual-language gaming, and possibly inconvenient schedule, depending).

What sort of games are you interested in anyway? Any other questions?

Don't forget that gaming over the Internet with tools like Skype and Roll20 are popular. I have plenty of gamers near me but getting them together is like herding cats. Online it's a bit easier. (Though online it's more like herding lolcats.)

Okay, thinking over it a bit more, maybe my campaign isn't that troublesome to join. Things need to be talked over more to figure it out. So maybe. Hard to tell yet.
