Default Wealth and money

I know, it appears to be a simple question, but... I really can't make it work!

I can't use the Wealth Modifier value on the system. How it works?

And how can I change the quantity of money a PC has? I tried to edit this values, but the program can't accept my entries!

Thank you for any help!

Regards

It should just work. When you change a character's wealth level the Money stat should change as well. If it's not you might want to try a Recalculate.

You need to use the various Money modifiers that can be found by editing the Money stat.

How the itens Starting Wealth and Wealth modifier works? They has two fields: score and Pts. What every one does?

Example: I have a PC that have Starting Wealth=1000. He gains $500, and just bought $800 in objects and food, amd now he has $700. How can I update this values in the GCA sheet? I'm trying to use the wealth modifier, but I'm not understanding how it works... If I change this value, it changes automagically the Starting wealth... :(

Sorry so elementary questions, people...

Regards

Nicholas

  1. Click on the "Attributes" tab.
  2. Double click on the "Money" attribute.
  3. Click on the "Modifiers" button.
  4. Add the "Money Earned in Play" modifer.
  5. Double-click on the "Money Earned in Play" modifer.
  6. Set the level to the amount you want to add.

Thank you for your help, my friend!

I did it, and the total really changes. I discovered there that exists an another modifier that was reducing the amount of money of the Pc in 20% and removed it. Now, it appears 1500 on Money. Thank you! Man... I'd probably never could imagine this... Why people made so difficult a simple task like sum more money on character's money??

But... I still have a problem...

The sum of the values of my objects is still written in red color on the inferior tab of the system, like I still haven't money to buy'em ($1160). What is happening? The item Remaining funds is showing -604, and I can't change it... It has to be with the problem? Or is something else?

Ps.: Sorry my poor English.

Thank you in advance one more time,

Nicholas

That's because settled characters have to spend 80% on the non-liquid non-adventuring assets of their standard of living. You should leave that on unless the character is truly a rootless wanderer. See Basic p. 26.

If you have enough Money to pay for all that stuff then it shouldn't be red. Try a recalculate.

Oh! Now I understand why this modifier appears in every PC... hehehe. Thanks! :)

Recalculate is not working. I have $1114 in objects, $1160 in money, but value is still red. Remaining funds are blue, marking -944.

Why developers don't do some useful helpfile about these items, at least? Gosh...

Thanks in advance!

Did you replace the 20% modifier with the 100% modifier?

Is this for a DF game, BTW? The DF1 gdf appears to automagically switch the modifier to 100%. Do you have that loaded?

Armin is one guy, and a freelancer besides. There really aren't any "developers" in the mainstream software sense.

I believe the reason the value is showing red is because the total value of money and objects on the character is above the value calculated from the character's Wealth Advantage level. A character needs to buy up Wealth to have more than $1,000 (standard for TL 3; B p.27) as a starting character.

Some GMs will want the PCs to buy up the Wealth level to cover the value of any treasure gained during play that they will continue to the next adventure with.

Others do not care about this, and in such case; you could apply the _Free modifier to any items gained as loot from your adventures.

Orin,

You got it! The system is telling me about the wealth level of the character. Gosh, how blind I was! Thank you!!!

Gentleman,

Let me tell you... You were great! Thank you very much for your kindness, and your patience!

Regards
