It's also not needed. If players want extra experience points for their characters, they can post artwork, in-character journal entries or after-action reports, or anything else that enhances the game for everyone.

Anten does that, regularly. He's also a pretty good cook. :)
Though cooking a meal inspired by an exotic location the characters visit (or, for the daring, foes they slay) should rate bonus character points on the same scale.

I really don't wanna know what roast goblin would look like IRL.

(or as the hobbit once said: "You defiled the kitchen by cooking goblin?!")

Somewhat famously, the selection course for the Rhodesian Selous Scout regiment included a long period of near-starvation during some very hard work indeed, followed by the 'gift' of a rotting baboon carcass, crawling in maggots.

The recruits were instructed how to prepare it with minimal risk of dangerous consequences* and received no other food for the next few days, during which continuing to perform all but required some form of nourishment.

*I can't recall any that roasted it, they seemed mostly to boil the meat, which somehow manages to make this sound even less appetizing.

Oh, absolutely.

If they wanted to reproduce a British or French meal, circa 1712, I'd give their characters a point for that. :)

Although, I understand that the wide use of vinegar in a lot of those recipes tends to result in considerable flatulence.

I served a meal to the occult WWII campaign inspired by the characters' visit to Stalingrad. Since the battle hadn't actually started at that point, it could be reasonable, although it was basic: bully beef and potato/carrot/onion salad.

About to play in a campaign set (initially) in 1930's Scotland. PC is a ship's cook, and a former White Russian. Might have to do some research and cook something "appropriate".

A White Russian? Of course you don't want tipsy gamers ruining concentration, still it is an obvious suggestion.

If you are not in the mood for that, what did the Russian army eat on campaign at the time? Probably not something appetizing. But officer's fare would work especially if they were on leave and visiting a club.
