Re: Counter Manifests & ODE Contents
Ogre Reinforcements contains three counter sheets with the following units:
Sheet 1
Sheet 2
There are two copies of Sheet 2 per package. When you merge Ogre Reinforcements with Ogre 6e, as is clearly intended, you end up with precisely equal forces, except that the Combine force has two more GEVs than the PE force. Last edited by HeatDeath; 02-06-2024 at 09:27 PM. |

Ogre Pocket Edition
This is the reproduction of the Ogre 1e baggie microgame [albeit with updated rules] that was released in conjunction with Ogre Designer's Edition in 2012 / 2013. It is not to be confused with the Ogre 3e reproduction Pocket Box released in 2019 as part of the "Pocket Box Games of the 80's" Kickstarter campaign. Two identical chipboard die-cut counter sheets, each with the following units:
All PE units are black text on a white background. Command Posts and Ogres are also supplied in Light Gray (with black print) and Dark Gray (with white print), for neutral factions and multipolar scenarios. The Light Gray units are very difficult to distinguish from PE units in isolation, once punched. Interestingly, the Ogre Pocket Edition diecut counters are a fraction of a millimeter smaller than the 2019 reproduction diecuts. The printing is the same size, though. I just recently rebagged my Pocket Edition Counters using the divisions in this list. I also set up a bag containing the standard Ogres and CPs for easy access when playing.

The 2019 reproduction of this pocket box also includes two diecut chipboard counter sheets that, between them, precisely duplicate the counters from the original thin cardboard counter sheet. |

Re: Counter Manifests & ODE Contents
Shockwave (1984)
The 1984 bagged edition of Shockwave included 2 sheets of thin cardboard, cut-it-yourself counters: Sheet 1
Sheet 2
The 2019 reproduction of Shockwave (1984) included an extra copy of Sheet 1, most likely due to there being a duplicate Sheet 1 from Ogre Reinforcement Pack (1987) in the copy they were using for reference. Interestingly, the die-cut versions of the counters reflect this error, spreading the counters for Sheet1, Sheet 2, and the extra Sheet 1 over multiple die-cut sheets, mixed in such a way that the counters from the extra Sheet 1 are spread over multiple die-cut countersheets and not neatly extricable from the set. The 2019 reproduction of Ogre Reinforcement Pack (1987) duplicates this error, which tells us that the reference copy of Shockwave (1984) had an extra counter sheet first, then the die-cut counter sheets were laid out using the thin countersheets in the reference copy as a reference, and that the Ogre Reinforcement Pack reproduction was developed later by simply duplicating the component documents that had already been generated for the smaller standalone reproduction sets, reflecting the same error. Ogre Reinforcement Pack (1987)
The 1987 bagged edition of Ogre Reinforcement Pack contains four counter sheets:
The 2019 reproduction of this set includes an extra copy of Shockwave (1984) Sheet 1, as well as duplicates of the die-cut chipboard counter sheets from the 2019 reproductions of Ogre Pocket Box, GEV Pocket Box, and Shockwave (1984). Last edited by HeatDeath; 02-05-2024 at 10:17 PM. |

Re: Counter Manifests & ODE Contents
40 Years of Ogre
"40 Years of Ogre" was a booklet, first published in GTM Magazine, that contained complete Ogre game rules, a modified version of the Orange map, and sufficient components to play a new scenario: "Bad Timing." The counters were cut-it-yourself thin cardboard counters, but followed the art style of O6e rather than the older pocket boxes. The counters were slightly less than half the size of the O6e-scale counters. The following counters were included:

Re: Counter Manifests & ODE Contents
1976 Ogre Playtest Booklet
The booklet contains two slightly inconsistent counter sets. The more formal one is a formal counter list on the last page of the booklet, next to an identical grid of counters ready for cutting: Black /w white text (Combine)
White /w black text (PE)
All counters are single-sided. The centerspread of the booklet is a photo showing an apparently full set of counters laid out next to the map. It has minor differences from the listing above.

Re: Counter Manifests & ODE Contents
Ogre / GEV (2000)
This micro-scale edition was released in a plastic VHS box with a thin cardboard slipcover, and included both Ogre and GEV. The version of Ogre in this box was marked as 5e. The Ogre and GEV maps were printed on a single piece of glossy paper. The rulebooks were bound together but not merged - the front cover of GEV was on the back cover, upside down, from the Ogre front cover. The counter sheets, however, were merged. Ogre / GEV (2000) included three identical copies of the following sheet of thin cardboard, cut-it-yourself counters, which contained the counters for both Ogre and GEV.
