Not to forget that german infantry still lugged around their 37mm AT guns. Quite useless against a T34 but they can ruin the day of any boat around.

I'm guessing that the Romanian, Hungarian and Bulgarian navies might also have been present to some degree on the those rivers that lead to the Black sea - arguably there wasn't much else for them to do...

The Romanian fleet had plenty to do in the Black Sea and might even have done more there. But of course it was also present on the Danube, if nothing else to sweep off those air-dropped mines. A handful of patrol boats even contributed to the final campaign against Germans and Hungarians, after Romania had changed sides. Heh heh, there you have it again, Apocalypse Now up into those bad-aspected lands...

See p. W:MA16, 18.

Didn't the Brits had a plan to sink some cargo barges in the "Eiserne Pforte" to block the Danube?

And the Germans did transfer some smaller S-Boats and light submarines to the black sea along the Danube (the subs on barges, partially disassembled) Stopping those might be a nice scenario.

And you can always put a few S-Boats on the rivers/lakes with the 1.5m draft they should work niclely, going toe to toe with the Russian G5 and maybe some LendLease PT boats.

Once early in the war the British conducted an unsucessful sabotage campaign against oil traffic from Romania to Germany-is that what you mean?
