As defined in Adventurers page 47, "You get +1 per level (maximum four)..."
Knight template P .27 shows Advantages I can buy, "Born War Leader 3-6..." |

From what I recall, Knights get access to more levels than others do.

Maximum four for most people, or six for Knights.

Specific overrules general. If a template says you can get something higher than what the trait in question normally says, go with what the template says.

As spelled out in Maximum Advantage Level (Adventurers, p. 46):
When an advantage comes in levels or varieties, the [...] the number of levels allowed [is] the highest of these three limits:So since the knight template notes six levels, and that's higher than the four levels in the advantage description, knights can have six levels.
