The trapdoor is still open and secret passage is still there, no visible change from before. The dark tunnel at the bottom of the ladder has no notable smell but the hidden area feels somewhat unwholesome anyway.

Telrith would like to arm himself again, and then pour over the contents of the satchel. What are these papers about? who wrote them? are they all in the same language and handwriting? about how many are there? are they all one set or are they from a bunch of different sources? Do any of them cover demonic subjects?

The papers in the satchel are mostly puzzles of various kinds. The man was trying to solve them, it seems. A few papers without puzzles are written in an unfamiliar language with unfamiliar letters.

Now that we are back where we killed the zombies and the other bandits. Vic gets the prisoner (female) and sits her in front of a sitting Mendel (male) two yards a part. He slaps them both awake. He will do nothing for now, but has his sword drawn in the middle of both prisoners. If anything weird happens (they say something suspicious, sudden moves, anything) Vic will execute one or both with a swing.
He just says. “Talk”.
