He wants to gather as much information as possible, but a least their number and their size.

He spent the rest of the day gambling, then he camped with Vicious at the city outskirts; Bain shared his thoughts with Vicious at night, the chupacabras tale is a good one for a campfire. He also tells him he hasn't heard from Telrith in a while, was he kidnapped by the monsters? Finally, he also tells Vic about giving the lion head to the sargeant and the other head to the inn keeper.

BACK TO DAY 21…

Seeing the party has come to an agreement, they decide to hit the road next day at first hour. They search for Telrith, but also leave a message for him at the inn.

Gathika is very happy with the Candy, she shares some with the people at the table!

With Mendel’s money the party buys 2 healing potions $240, ten iron spikes $10 and a periscope $50.

Gathika buys with her money:

A horse for the cart! $1,800 with haggling.
The horse’s name is ARI and is a she.

She also buys: Block and Tackle. $200. Rope ¾, 30 yards, $75, 5lbs.

She is OK giving the heads away.

Vic asks Bain to write a note for Telrith:

YOU HAVE BEEN CALLED BY STEEL, TO ACTION

In the back of the note he tells him about the caves and to bring FIGHTING and/or DEFENSE Elementals.

Vic agrees giving the heads to the sergeant is good diplomatic measure.

Mendel does not sell horses, but there is a merchant in town that does. Gathika makes the purchase.

The monster is a demon stallion - it is a heavy warhorse that was corrupted into a creature tainted by hell. It could breathe fire and would be hurt by Good divine healing magic.

The creatures who bite and sucked blood from the horses were eight in number, and they were thin humanoids of average height, with naked, hairless and clawed feet/hands. They are lurking in nearby tree copses.

Bain suggests the party to spend the night outside the city and set a trap for the creatures that attacked the horses in town; the party will be using ARI as bait. Killing the creatures would pave the way in the future and might earn the party a reward. At the same time, Telrith might join them... sooner than later.

And so, Vicious sets the camp up, Gathika casts her watchdog spell and Bain lays the traps with ARI as bait; then he camouflages the traps.

When it is time to make watch, Bain also camouflages himself; he places himself at a vantage point and under cover (at a height of 5 yards and 4 yard away from the bait and the traps).

That night, the party lies in wait around the palisade. At midnight, they spy eight strange beings emerge from the trees and creep up to the walls of the palisade, trying to climb it.

The things are 10 yards away. They are all human-sized, albeit very skinny, and clawed, with big lamprey-like mouths, and big shiny black eyes.
