My first encounter with it was in 1987 at the Wizard's Corner in Saskatoon. I bought it in the discount bin, and didn't really care for it, so it sat in the corner while I played more straightforward games like Stormbringer.
In 1989 I bought 3rd edition and liked it so much better, so much so that I have been playing it since then. I even have an autographed copy of GURPS Rome in the basement! |

Me: Oh, it sounds like you might be interested in GURPS, it-- Other people on the Internet: There the GURPS fans go again, always recommending GURPS! So typical! Me: But...but... |
