Equipment for non-humanoids
Has anyone made items uniquely suited to their non-humanoids?
I'm trying to come up with some sort of harness/vehicle for my SM-1 slow moving giant slug like creatures. Ultra tech doesn't help with its assumptions of humanoid shape. |

For example, perhaps the slugs use the equivalent of the Lower Body Exoskeleton to improve their mobility on land. It would normally weigh and cost 1/2 the listed values (ie, 15lb and $6k) but because of their unusual morphology, cost is doubled, back up to $12k. Granted, you'd need to decide just what sort of mobility improvement that provides, since it's intended for critters that already have legs... |

Re: Equipment for non-humanoids
But all those exoskeletons for humans assume no improvement in mobility just increases in strength.
My guys would be more concerned with increases in movement, especially the poor ones not interested in combat uses. I can't wait until Vehicles comes out. Maybe it would have something akin to a walker/wheelchair hybrid. |

Super Jump and increased Move seems like improvements to mobility to me. Why not use one of the smaller Vehicles from Ultra-Tech and just call it an exo-skeleton?

How does the creature grasp? Does it have limbs? Tentacles? Prehensile tale? Prehensile tongue?

I guess low tech would be ride-able skateboards. Ultra tech would be flexible suits mimicking natural movements just faster and stronger. But what would be in between or ultra tech but cheap for the business-snail on a budget? |

Reduced Move (and possibly No Legs) with a Mitigator. see p.B142 "Technological Assistance" under "Lame".
