I'm kind of wondering, how does Homeline support some of the TL9 tech it has taken back? Like those fuel cells, wouldn't it require manufacturing tech that wouldn't be available?

It depends on how the tech was brought back and if there is something unavailable on homeline. Gernesbach electromagnetic weapons won’t work on homeline because there is no worldwide beamed power grid… but if homeline built such a thing they would work just fine. Homeline could also (if they wanted to) build as many of those weapons as they wanted and take them to gernebach , where they would start working.
In another case, if IP got hold of a toy of unknown design they could reverse engineer it and develop manufacturing processes to replicate it… if they have the time, money, desire, and understanding of the fundamental principals of operation.

Probably not correct. There's probably fundamental differences in physics between Gernsbach and Homeline. I doubt either the weapons ofr the power grid even can be exported successfully from Gernsbach.

From what Infinite Worlds & Alternate Earths 2 both say, the same physical laws apply to both. No real mentions is made of any divergent physics.

Then again, a lot of times superscience gadgets don't seem to require weird physics to run, just weird physics to build. As long as they're not magical in nature.

.
What Homeline imports from Gernsbach is pulp fiction, snazzy fedoras and Shickelgruber watercolors. Not the flying cars, not the portable energy weapons and not the power broadcasters. I'm pretty sure those don't work off Gernsbach.

So infinite worlds says this:

Quote:
This Quantum 7 world follows the
same physical laws as Homeline, but
with some odd variations that led
technical progress into a number of
very bizarre detours

the "odd variations" could refer to variations in the phsyical laws, or it could refer to odd variations in the time-line's scientific history.

I lean towards the former. It makes the setting so much easier to manage.
