Right now he only has his escort... who looks nervous, and then shrugs and goes ahead with it. "They do it to the Americans all the time"


Peter can feel the magic flow almost instantly. Its being channeled by some aspect of what he's doing and flows through him into the mind of the escort.



The escort cocks his head. "That did something. Ok, this is most strange." He lets out a few cuss words. "That was not what I meant to say. But I can speak normally if I want... yeah, all cool. So you can give the gift of language."

Peter will experiment a bit when he has free time.

Peter works hard on getting textiles, in particular, to stay together. he comes to the conclusion that this will be a matter of understanding cloth better, not practicing the strength of the magic. Its something he can work on... but it may be wise to consult an expert.

Peter tries other magical experimentation based on the advice of his escort and what magics they have seen and starts making a mental list of the things he wants to address when he's back among the gods...

The two other big ones are opening and closing gates, and healing. The mechanisms (words, motions, and incense) are much the same... but no gate is present here, and you don't see anyone with injuries...

If he can get the recommended materials, Peter will absolutely try opening a gate... Might be a lot easier to get around... tho he doubts he can make one to the celestial village or they likely wouldn't need an Emissary. But he will attempt to make one home.

The ritual only opens or closes an existing gate. He can certainly try doing that... Its a four mile trek out to the closest one. His escort says its location is a secret, but Peter can find them by simply following the flow of magic.



He follows the directions to close the gate... the first time it doesn't work, but Peter does feel the magic flowing, he thinks he just made a mistake or something.

He will try and 'feel' around and see if he can sense any gates that are closed.

The portal leads to a very dense and lush forest. The trees look temperate, but not anything he's seen in the north east.

The second try at closing the portal is successful. He can still detect the portal, and the flow of magic through it remains, but he can't see through it.

This close to a portal, he can't detect any other ones... maybe if he went farther away.

The energy flows out of the clockwork sky world and onto earth. All the portals on the clockwork sky world he's come across are that way.

Walking a mere half-mile away is insufficient. At two miles away... He'd need to make a navigation roll to triangulate things... he thinks the flow is a little crooked from strait to the previous portal.
