Default Alternate summons

From the firepower table
https://www.hcobb.com/tft/firepower.html
it is reasonable to assume that there are alternate summon spells of the same level as the given ones. These would be distinct spells at the same level, and a single wizard could learn several.

IQ 9: Summon Wolf / 1-hex dragon / Giant Spider

IQ 10: Summon Myrmidon / Jaguar / Rattlesnake

IQ 11: Summon Bear / Giant Snake

IQ 13: Summon Gargoyle / Wyvern / Pegasus

IQ 14: Summon Giant / 2-hex dragon / Giant Scorpion / Stone Beetle

IQ 15: Summon 4-hex dragon / Sabertooth Tiger / Cave Bear / 3-hex Turtle

IQ 16: Summon 7-hex dragon / 7-hex Turtle / Woolly Mammoth

There are some additional ideas about summoning spells over in the Show Me the Magic thread.

"The spell is not intended to allow summoning of creatures that are more powerful than the spells that they replace."

How do you compare critters with different abilities? X has a higher attack damage and poison, but Y has more DX and some armor, etc.

I agree that it is difficult to assess overall comparative danger/power of a given creature (or even PC!).

Interplay already did this, with a longer list of options.

Be sure that increasing the power and versatility of summons (and indirectly, images and illusions) is what you really want, before simply adding this and finding out later what the side-effects are. For most casual chaotic anything-goes games, not much, but it does change things up.
