Default Daze vs. Paralysis

"Daze: You are conscious – if you are standing, you remain upright – but you
can do nothing. If you are struck, slapped, or shaken, you recover on your next turn."

"Paralysis: You cannot move any voluntary muscles, and fall over if you are
not in a balanced position. You remain conscious, and can still use advantages
or spells that require neither speech nor movement."

If you're dazed you remain standing, can easily be "undazed", but cannot act. If you're paralyzed you might fall over, you cannot easily be "unparalyzed", but you can use traits that don't require speech or movement. But as an Affliction, Paralysis is worth three times more than Daze despite the fact that a dazed person has fewer options than a paralyzed person does. Is this because it's so much harder to undo? Because the dazed person can take the Do Nothing action? Or am I missing something?

In campaigns without magic or psi, paralysis leaves the afflictee very few options. And the easy exit from being Dazed is a significant relief from trouble, even if you have to take a hit.

Mostly. Against multiple opponents, dazed has a pretty good chance of being almost completely irrelevant due to being removed before the victim's initiative comes up.

Paralysis is largely "You're out of the fight, and likely dead or captured unless your friends defend you until you've recovered." Daze is "You're out of the fight until an enemy hits you or an ally takes a turn to shake you (or just an attack to slap you, pulling their punch so you aren't harmed)." The former is far more powerful. As you note, there is the workaround that a character with appropriate abilities can still use them while paralyzed (and this goes beyond just using powers - a Paralyzed person can still perceive their environment and can thus continue to gather information; I seem to recall a story where the main character gets paralyzed by a spell but nobody can find them, so they're able to still overhear what's going on), while a Dazed person is unlikely to really know what's going on while they're out. But generally speaking, Paralysis is a death sentence without help, while Daze just means the foe can get in a free hit (which, to be fair, may well be fatal), plus the latter requires far less assistance. The fact Paralysis typically knocks you prone also contributes to its higher cost.

Paralysis is, "Unless you have special powers, I win." If you press home the advantage, you can do whatever you like to the paralyzed person for as long as the paralysis lasts.

Daze is mostly, "Not a lot better than stun, except that it might last longer if nobody meddles with it." If you press home the advantage, the first thing you do to the dazed person ends your advantage.
