Anthropomorphic race variants?
Has anyone done this as a TFT variant? Like Redwall, Wind In The Willows, etc animals as characters. I find myself with a public game to run and I want to run TFT, I also have a large number of anthropomorphic miniatures and I would like to blend these two into a game that I can easily teach anyone. I can do this myself too, I have written for the OSR for over a decade now, yet I am always willing to listen to the advice of others.
As always, any information is appreciated!

I haven't but it should be easy enough to do as we already have lots of stats for other character races like Halflings, Dwarves, Elves, Gargoyles, Reptile Men, Giants etc. Using those as guides and with your own knowledge of the genre or story you should be able to come up with something.

I suppose you can also use the existing stats for various animals covered in ITL, though you'll need to increase their IQ of course.
Welcome to Narnia!

I'm working on rewriting these are general rules for Demihumans in my Book of Uncommon Beings. There will be general modifiers based on the category of creature (taxonomic class, size, feeding behaviour, etc). So it will be easy to create say a demihuman from a large herbivore (deer, ox, moose), or small carnivore (fox, weasel), or bird of prey (eagle, hawk), etc. There will be additional guidelines for species-specific adds, such as echolocation for bat demihumans and venom for deadly serpent demihumans.

Thank you for the replies, everyone, it is much appreciated and that looks like a great base, Shadekeep, thank you for the link. I don't see this as too exhaustive of a project, so I will give it a try.

Re: Anthropomorphic race variants?
I would suggest making the average sized animal equal to humans in the game world. Larger animals get upgraded like Lizardmen and Gargoyles and really big animals become 2 or three hex monster types. Smaller animals get stats like halflings. Some animals might get attributes and special abilities in the same way that elves and dwarves have little bits added on.

I've posted my WIP demihuman guidelines in case you are curious to see how I approached it. There are a number of ways it could be done, of course.
