Re: [SUPERS] My Unofficial Handbook to the DC Universe
Good question. I'm leaving Jason Todd "dead for real" in this continuity, but I was definitely just making things up with my time limit on ressurections.
IIRC, Ra's has threatened to bring Martha and Thomas Wayne back as zombies or something, so maybe I'll amend that part.

Re: [SUPERS] My Unofficial Handbook to the DC Universe
Anti-Villain: Talia Al Ghul
Alias: None. Allies and Affiliations: Ra's Al Ghul, League of Assassins, Secret Society of Super-Villains Talia is the daughter of Ra's Al Ghul and an unnamed Chinese American woman. As unbelievable as it sounds, they met at Woodstock. Ra's was hoping for a male heir, but he nevertheless raised Talia himself and trained her to serve as an instrument of his will. As she grew to adulthood, he discovered that she had far more potential than any of his other children, and she became his second in command. When Batman rescued Talia from Dr. Daark (a rival for control of the league of assassins), the two began a tenuous romantic relationship. Ra's approved, seeing "The Detective" as a suitable husband to his favorite daughter and as a possible successor. Batman, on the other hand, has mixed feelings about it. During several of Ra's Al Ghul's unexplained disappearances and apparent death's, Talia has taken control of his organizations. In these instances she's shown a keen business sense and has been a very successful leader. Additionally, she's been trained in combat by Ra's himself as well as the Sensai, and is much more formidable than she looks. Talia believes in her father's dream of transforming the earth into a peaceful natural paradise, and while she doesn't always agree with his ruthless methods, she's very loyal to her father and his mission. This often comes into conflict with her affection for Batman. Quote:

Re: [SUPERS] My Unofficial Handbook to the DC Universe
Anti-Villain: Lady Shiva
Alias: Sandra Wu-San, Sandra Woosan, San Da Wu-San Allies and Affiliations: Richard Dragon, David Cain, League of Assassins San Da Wu-San was born to ethnically Chinese parents in Myanmar. She studied martial arts her whole life, competing in Lethwei tournaments and putting on exhibitions with her twin sister, Caelan David Cain saw one of these exhibitions and immediately noted Wu-San's incredible potential and also that she was constantly holding herself back for the sake of her sister. He thought that she would be able to help him in his quest to create a perfect living weapon (see Batgirl's origin story), so he murdered Caelan. Vowing revenge, San Da studied Dragon Kung Fu from Richard Dragon and Te from The Sensai. She surpassed both of her teachers, becoming the greatest fighter who has ever lived. When she finally found David Cain, she defeated him with ease. But before she could kill him, he convinced her that he had been right--the death of Caelan did unlock her true potential. She forgave him and set about on an unending quest to perfect the art of violence, taking the name Lady Shiva after the Hindu god associated with destruction. Lady Shiva now works for the League of Assassins, but she cares little about their goals. She is obsessed with being the best martial artist, so she will frequently seek out the world's greatest fighters and challenge them to single combat--often to the death. She's more amoral than immoral, and can sometimes be convinced to train a promising fighter. She taught Tim Drake how to fight with a staff, and has recently taken an interest in training Black Canary, who she thinks could be a fighter comparable to herself, if only she would abandon the moral compunctions that hold her back. In addition to her prodigious fighting skills, Lady Shiva has an ability to read her opponents body language surpassed only by her daughter, Cassandra Cain. She also knows a deadly pressure point attack known as "The Leopard Fist" that is almost always fatal, but she rarely uses it before she's had a chance to gauge the full measure of an opponents abilities. Re: [SUPERS] My Unofficial Handbook to the DC Universe
Affiliation: Birds of Prey
Permanent Members: Oracle (Leader), Black Canary, Huntress, Lady Blackhawk Former, Temporary, and "On-Call" Members: Batgirl, Big Barda, Katana, Hawk and Dove, Manhunter (Kate Spencer), Power-Girl, Vixen, and Lady Shiva (Unreliable). Allies: Creote, Savant, Nightwing, Wildcat. Notable Enemies: Calculator, Spy Smasher, Secret Six, Lady Shiva, White Canary, Twelve Brothers in Silk. Area of Operation: Global. When Barabara Gordon became Oracle, she realized she would need a team ready and able to act immediately on her information. At first she recruited Black Canary and the two of them formed an effective partnership. Later, when Black Canary was kidnapped by Savant and Creote (before their Face-Turn), Oracle recruited Huntress to assist in her rescue. Later, Lady Blackhawk was added to the team. This core team of three currently has a mobile base on board Lady Blackhawk's plane, Aerie One. They are designed as a rapid response team to act on threats that Oracle discovers through her constant data-mining, and as an emergency rescue team for other super-heroes in trouble. Oracle is the undisputed leader of the Birds of Prey, and, thanks to a one-time endowment from Batman, is able to offer a Comfortable income to the rest of her team. Notably, the Birds of Prey do NOT answer to Batman or to any other outside agency. In addition to the core team, Oracle keeps an extensive list of heroes willing to help out when needed.

Re: [SUPERS] My Unofficial Handbook to the DC Universe
Hero: Black Canary
Alias: Dinah Laurel Lance Allies and Affiliations: Birds of Prey, Oracle, Huntress, JLA, Green Arrow, Wildcat. Dinah Laurel Lance is a second generation super-hero, her mother was Dinah Drake, the original Black Canary and her father was Larry Lance a police detective. When she was just 17, Dinah decided, against her mother's wishes, that she would also become a super-hero. She secretly enlisted her mother's former friend and JSA teammate Wildcat (Ted Grant) to teach her to fight. Her talent as a martial artist was immediately apparent, and she continued her training under various skilled martial artists including Richard Dragon--becoming one of the very best fighters in the world. On one of her earliest attempts at Super-heroics, Black Canary discovered by accident that she can emit a blast of destructive sonic energy, her Canary Cry. Unfortunately, the first time she used this in combat she inadvertently cause permanent hearing loss in an innocent bystander. She now reserves this for emergencies and fights against super-powered opponents, preferring to rely on her martial arts skills. Black Canary has many contacts and friends within the Super-Hero community. She served in the JLA for some time and was even, briefly there leader. It was in the JLA that she met Green Arrow, with whom she fell in love--although their romance has been a rocky one. Black Canary is currently the second in command of the Birds of Prey--working with what are now her very best friends Oracle, Huntress, and Lady Blackhawk. She has recently also been selected by Lady Shiva as a worthy student--an honor that Black Canary finds more than a little troubling. Quote:

Re: [SUPERS] My Unofficial Handbook to the DC Universe
Anti-Hero: Huntress
Alias: Helena Bertinelli Allies and Affiliations: Bat-Family (tentative), Birds of Prey Helena Bertinelli was born to the wife of Mafia Crime Lord Franco Bertinelli. She watched while her mother was beaten and abused regularly, and noticed her father's many unscrupulous and immoral activities. She grew to hate her father, and all organized criminals with a burning passion. This passion grew even more extreme when rival boss Mandragora sent a hitman to kill Helena's father, mother, and brother during dinner when she was 8 years old. Orphaned but wealthy, Helena was sent to a private boarding school in Switzerland where she plotted her revenge and trained herself in the skills she thought she would need to exact it. When she returned to Gotham City at the age of 16, she ended the lives of Mandragora and his hired killer. When she tried to continue to operate as a hero, she found that, as a killer, she couldn't earn the support and approval of Batman, as much as she wanted to join their quest. She continued to operate without his approval or permission, sometimes putting the two heroes at odds. She had a brief romantic fling with Nightwing during this period, who encouraged her to forswear killing. Helena gradually earned the grudging respect of the Bat-Family, although she's still something of an outsider. She has now joined the Birds of Prey and become very close friends with Oracle and Black Canary--she finally feels as though she belongs. While she has been trained by the likes of Nightwing and Richard Dragon, Huntress retrains an undisciplined but scrappy and effective street-fighting style. She is an unrivaled master of the crossbow, using both a full-sized and sometimes dual pistol crossbows in her war on organized crime. Quote:

Re: [SUPERS] My Unofficial Handbook to the DC Universe
Hero: Lady Blackhawk
Alias: Zinda Blake Affiliations: Blackhawk Squadron, JSA, Birds of Prey The Blackhawk Squadron was an elite group of privately funded fighter pilots formed during WWII. Zinda Blake was only a teenager when she joined the Blackhawks. She was their only woman pilot and one of their best. The Blackhawk Squadron was instrumental in defeating the Axis in WWII, and afterwards they turned to face the growing Soviet threat. In 1959, (at the age of 30) Zinda Blake was pulled out of the time stream along with several members of the JSA to fight an extra-dimensional threat to many worlds. When the threat was defeated and Zinda was returned to her own world, she was shocked to discover that she'd been sent 50 years into the future! Zinda Blake currently flies the Aerie One a unique, custom built fighter plane. She acts as transportation and back-up for the Birds of Prey. In addition to being one of the greatest living pilots, she's also a crack shot and an accomplished brawler. She sometimes seems stuck in the past, but she's definitely embracing a freer lifestyle than would have been acceptable for a woman of the 1940s. Quote:

Re: [SUPERS] My Unofficial Handbook to the DC Universe
There's just one tiny little quibble. Not one of the Birds of Prey have a point in Singing. :( :)
(Also, has Catwoman assisted the Birds in the comics at all, or is that just in Batman: the Brave and the Bold?)
