Okay, so I said I was still in, but I'm not. I've lost all interest here. I keep loading the pages and starting reading, but there's so much stuff there, and I just never could see to come up with anything interesting for my character to do, so I'm bowing out here.

If you wish to leave then that is fine. Thank you for participating and for bringing a very firm character idea to the game; Douglas represented a great asset to the team in terms of his skills and the effort that you put into role-playing him even when it had the chance to cause friction with the other characters. I will add that we are about to move into a section of action where Douglas might be more at home; I will retain your place in the game for the indefinite future in case you wish to return.

We've temporarily stalled owing to Talosian moving to a new computer [Actually I've just found out it's a case of flu.]. I'm going to allow a couple of days more and then pick things up again on Saturday regardless unless I hear something to change my plans.

If the game does stall (I'm hoping that it won't, but just as a point of interest and to vent some of my ideas that keep turning up and interupting my train of thought) he's some ideas that I may be picking up instead. A couple of thoughts (feel free to comment/ vote/ whatever):
  • Star Wars: Tears of Yavin - set during the weeks following the destruction of the first Death Star, this sees a team in the Rebel Alliance fighting against the Empire. I'm still working on the rules for using the Force, but they do exist.
  • Screwtape - experimental, and based loosely on the concept of the Screwtape Letters: players take on the role of unseen spirits who influence the lives of a household to try and achieve their chosen goal. Everyone has a Good and Bad goal to work towards, and not everyone's goals are mutually exclusive, so alliances would be possible.
  • Mind Force - based on something that I'm writing elsewhere, this is a high powered game (100 cp + 50 disad + 400~ cp purely for powers) using psionics based around the existence of a covert group fighting against enemy psis. Moral issues will appear as the players will seriously outclass any non-psi in the game.
  • There's actually a similar idea based around the same kind of point limit, but purely using TK. That one was more civilian though, since it would be largely player driven as to investigating the plot.
  • Miskatonic University - I've picked up some HP Lovecraft recently, and I'm feeling vaguely inspired. Dire powers that man should not know about. Still thinking about this one.
  • The Guard - TL3 with magic of a sort. Players take on the role of members of the Guard who patrol the Outlands and protect travellers from the Monsters and invaders from other lands.

There are others. Like I said, I'm hoping not to have to use them; anyone who wants to run one of these themselves let me know and I'll pass you all of my notes on it. I'm also open to collaborating or whatever.

Mind Force and University seem cool, although I still like Worlds of fire.

Damn. If I still have time to specify my equipment, I'd like to get the armor I'd been planning >.<

As Seann would really appreciate it at this very moment :P

(Seriously, I've got a massive list of gear I plan to pick up at some point.)

If not, Seann will (probably) live until next time we're at base to gear up.

Quote:
Energy Cloth (TL12)
This light and easily-concealed armor is an ultra-tech
ballistic fiber similar to monocrys. Its hyperdense “fabric”
is resistant to nearly all forms of attack. It is flexible, but
gets its full DR against all damage types.

TL12 (By my understanding, this should fall under the category of materials tech, as there is no electronics gadgetry or suit-y-ness involved in this armor.)
Energy Cloth Suit
Location: All (Although I'd assume this doesn't cover the eyes.)
DR: 30*
Cost: $4000
Weight: 8 lbs.
LC: 4
* Flexible.

Seann's technically had two months between adventures to do some shopping. Provided that you don't produce something that you couldn't obviously have brought or which would have had a major effect earlier, I'm flexible on this one. A complete equipment list would be nice to have though.

With Lucius in the back does he have clear line of sight of the man with the gun? Can we assume he has his pistol sword drawn or do you wnat me to roll a fast draw roll? also will you accept Invisible Castle for rolls?

Everyone went into this situation expecting trouble, so no fast-draw rolls are required. The corridor is certainly wide enough that everyone is spread out and Lucius can see the person, but below neck height things are going to be a bit dicy for aiming. Figure -6 from the hip or -3 and a reaction penalty (because the barrel will be right next to someone's ear in all likelihood) from braced at the shoulder. Range penalty to follow once we work out who is going first etc.

I'll accept invisible castle or die rolls that are just entered as text (since I'm not on invisible castle myself I can't object to other people not using it, and merely have to remain watchful for anyone abusing that).

Okay, additions to Seann's equipment:

Force Beamer (Very Fine): $750
Quote:
Force Beamer (TL10^): The ranged equivalent of brass
knuckles. The impact of this palm-sized weapon’s force
beam feels like the kick of a mule.

TL: 10^
Name: Force Beamer
Damage: 3d cr dkb
Acc: 3
Range: 100/300
Weight: 0.35/B
ROF: 1
Shots: 22(3)
ST: 3
Bulk: -1
Rcl: 1
Cost: $150
LC: 4
Energy Cloth Suit: $4,200
Quote:
Stats posted previously. Added cost from the addition of Karatands (high tech equivalents to Brass Knuckles. Doesn't change any statistics beyond increasing punch damage. Suit is made in several parts, in order to accurately mimic normal clothing:

Turtleneck Shirt, Pants, Fingershoes (very light shoe-like things), Balaclava*, Gloves**.

*I read through the whole thing very thoroughly, and as far as I can tell, this SHOULD add DR to the eyes. I can only assume that section is meant to be transparent.

**Gloves include Karatands, and Transponder Rings (allows his guns to be fired).
Seann's carried equipment:

2 mags of normal pistol ammunition
2 mags of HEMP ammunition
Belt
Energy Cloth Suit
Force Beamer
Force Shield Bracelet
Holdout Electrolaser
Hyperspectral Contacts
Magnum Pistol
Mini Universal Tool
Multi-Function Knife
Near Miss Indicator
Night Vision Glasses (currently replaced by the Magic-seeing glasses)
Survival Watch
Tactical Folding Knife
Targeting (Program)
Translator Program (Many)
Variable Lockpick
Visual Enhancement (Program)
Wrist Needler
