There's another reason that a Superior would tell a Servitor to work with the Servitor of a Hostile (or Enemy) Superior - punishment duty. Considering how the two were actually portrayed in "A Dark Dream," I can easily imagine that they've been told "work with that guy, and if you mess this one up too, don't bother trying to come back to your Heart"...
