[IC] Lost in Dreams [Tereza]

Hyrim "I've heard of some of those creatures, but only in tales. Most I haven't. I suppose you could count angels and Jinn, but those only appeared in ancient times. I'm afraid we're all humans or conjured. It makes life simpler, I think."

The Brukit salute, and fly in an honor guard around them. Trumpets blare from the palace, and people begin to come out, waving and cheering. Muso swallows. Hirim says to Tereza "Follow me, you can't be part of the grand entrance, and neither can I" He pulls his rug down, away from the path to the massive main doors, and off to the side.

Before breaking off go follow Hyrim Tereza will encourage Muso, "Relax Muso. You'll be fine. Your a capable individual who just discovered a new well. Listen to your advisors and do what you think best."

Muso rolls his eyes, then puts on a fairly dignified composure. As Hirim and Teresa fly away, Hirim chuckles "all he has to do is own things and let things run, and he'll be fine. No one has run their own state around here since 15,000 days before my birth. He'll be interesting to work with though. He doesn't actually want the job, but he's the only son who can inherit left."

Hirim brings Tereza into the palace though a platform made for the carpets. There are servants waiting for them, who take the rug. Hiram strides right on past them, indicating that Tereza should follow. The inside of the palace is richly furnished with carpets, tapestries, and reliefed plaster. Hiram approaches a maid "This is Tereza. For the time being she is to be considered gifted, and a guest. Provide for her quarters appropriately, and assign zani to assist her."

Hiram turns to go "Do you have any requests before I attend to my duties?"

"Nothing that I don't think that (points to maid) she or Zani can't take care of. Like food and a bath before bed. When I wake up I'll want to talk to one of the other gifted ladies but that's for latter that I imagine Zani can arrange."

After Hyrim leaves she'll go to the maid and see about getting food, sleep, and finding out who and what Zani is.

The maid informs Tereza that dinner will be in a few hours, but she is able to get Tereza some bread, and a bath (the trip has gotten sand EVERYWHERE). Then Tereza is introduced to Zani


[one bath later]

Zani turns out to be a small, levitating featureless metal ball. He greats Tereza "Hello Tereza, I am Zani, and will be your personall assistant while you stay here. I should be able to answer most your questions, guide you through the palace, and help you with matters of etiquette."

"I've had a long day today. So for now I'd like to go to sleep," says Tereza. She continues on with, "After I wake I'd love to hear about etiquette for a half hour to hour. After that and breakfast I'd very much like to set up a meeting with some of the other gifted please Zani."

Having filled her tummy a bit, bathed, and made plans for tomorrow she is now more then ready for sleep.

"They expect to meet you at breakfast, in two hours."

Tereza sleeps soundly, but not for very long, and is exhasted when the maids wake her up to eat with her guests. The little metal orb lectures on etiquette for some time. The gist of it seems to be who is "more honorable" than who and how to show this honor.

Tereza goes with the flow and tries to mind her manners. When she can she'll see about getting tutoring in the gift.

Tereza eats with 5 other women: Illios's Mother, his three younger sisters, his dead brother's widow, and a family friend from a nearby (and allied) palace. The meal is mostly fruit, meat, and dairy.

I quickly becomes apparent this is a center of palace intrigue, centered around furthering Illios, on of Illios's brothers, and to a lesser extend, Muso. The topic of today is Tereza, with a few tangents to the war, and the use of conscripted troops (this is a conversation about practicality as well as morality, the existing troops are very good).

Tereza will attempt to Act* like she's not as sleepy** as she is as well as that she is interested by all they have to say rather then just parts of it.

She'll also do her best to be diplomatic* in her answers and conversation to help insure they like her if her natural charisma doesn't win them. She will answer questions aimed at her freely*/*** and be sure to ask them similar questions so that she can get a better feel for all of them. One thing of particular note Tereza will ask about is if any of them are gifted and if they might be able to tutor/test her. Of equal importance will be setting an appointment to see Ilios and get more out of him then just practice, practice what exactly! Need more direction. Preferably before she sleeps again so that she doesn't wander off as quickly as she came before he can tell her more.

To a lesser extant she'll inquire why they'd try and further Ilios more then Muso, and what that entails.

Another point of interest will be how well goes the war. It would be scary if they were almost to the gates. She makes it known that she'd be willing to help mediate talks if they thought that had any chance of success as well as being something they'd like to do.

**Yeah only being down 3FP instead of 6 for 6 hours lost sleep, I think. 'Cause lose FP at half rate due to very fit.
***Tereza will use public speaking to help ensure her answers are amusing and or well said. Also they may want demonstrations of her singing/acting**** which she will happily oblige.
****I'm thinking Juliet's death scene after she finds Romeo dead. After some suitable exposition/cliff notes/public speaking to set the scene.
