The party stands ready and Bain shoots to prevent the man from eating the candy: He delivers one arrow right to his hand and another to his leg, both attacks connect!

The man at the desk is shot in his hand and legs, screams a little and then passes out!

The party approaches the knocked out and crippled man with no difficulties. They check the man, find he is unarmed, and carrying a small satchel of stuff.
The satchel contains many different papers and a bag of many copper coins.

The man who was shot multiple times gets treated for his injuries and bound.

Gathika feels something malicious is resting close to her position.

Gathika casts Astral Block 14/10 to protect herself and her friends, she makes a 5 yard circle to cover everybody.
Gathika casts her spell and immediately warns the party!

COMARDES! BEWARE OF THE-THING-IN-THE-WALL!

Nothing answers Vic's challenge and Gathika finds nothing disrupts her spell (to her relief).

“I remember the last time I met somebody like Mendell, He was a slaver, had a full escort. Scum of the earth. I killed him faster than his soldiers could draw their swords. I looked at their swords, ready to fight. I looked into their eyes. There was no loyalty, no reason to fight over a dead body. They kept their swords in their sheaths. Took the bag of coins and left. This is your last chance. We will kill Mendel. You can have the coins and your life. Or you can have neither.”

Vic uses carousing, rolling 11, skill level 11.
