Default More Thaumatology sneak peeks

Normally, I'd use a Daily Illuminator to point folks at these, but the queue has gotten crowded of late -- major conventions, big releases, holidays, and so on. And I've already did one "pointing" of late, so I'm sticking this one here.

More sneak peeks for GURPS Thaumatology!!!!

These three cover enchantment through deeds, the Sephiroth, and soothsaying.

I've got one more batch to release before we start talking about the book "being in the warehouse" and "heading your way," with a bit of "on your shelves."

Hmmmmm... that looks like the Sephiroth that was in GURPS Cabal...

Indeed. The magic system(s) from Cabal made it into Thaumatology wholesale. That was one bit of 3e goodness that was getting ported to 4e no matter what it took (in this case, a modest check to Ken Hite and some updating by Phil Masters and me).

Me too. Thaumatology doesn't look like the kind of book I would enjoy as a PDF, but the kind I'd rather read over and over again, curled up in bed.

It might be the kind to get as both, the hard cover for reading, and the PDF for quick referencing while running the game.

Reading it and pondering it is definitely best done in bed or in a hot bath (or, I suppose, on the toilet, if you're that kind of person). First thing I did was print and bind mine for that reason, and I'm eagerly awaiting the hard cover (now I'll have a good solid copy, and one for folding up on itself or passing to players with sticky fingers!)

However (and I'm saying this with the voice of experience here, having had the PDF for a while and running a DF game and picking through things and thinking about what I might carry off for my game)...

A searchable PDF that you can cut-n-paste ideas out of into your own document and then rearrange, add-to or delete from as you see fit?

A LIFE SAVER.

A couple of the chapters are really "Roll your own magic system" territory. Even just being able to print off a copy of Chapter N and highlight things that intrigue you for further thought later? Terribly useful for making the most of this in your game.

You can, however, achieve almost the same effect with a photocopier, scissors, and paste, I suppose.

That's why I usually get both. Too bad I can't afford the dead-tree version right now; it's so uncomfortable to read from a laptop in bed (let alone in a tub), expecially when you don't even own one...

You must be joking. No, seriously...
